NYC really does a good job ensuring there are safe and convenient alternatives when a sidewalk is temporarily closed for construction. At least in Manhattan. This temporary bike lane is better than a lot of permanent cycling infrastructure in American cities!

Require new supply to have a mandatory minimum of units guaranteed for low income families otherwise you are only building housing for gentrifiers and are reinforcing trickle down economics theory that abundance for the rich will trickle down to the poor

There is so much about this proposal that has not been thought through and it has the potential to inflict serious harm on the working and middle class. @NYCSpeakerAdams doesn’t care about any of this. Ending private property ownership is a core goal of the socialist ( communist) movement and this is yet another attempt to execute on the goal. @RealTonyHerbert and @nyvoicenews do a great job laying out it why we have to rise up and resist this infringement of our rights as Americans. Why is this so important to every tax payer? Simple. The takeover will f private property by NGO’s to r the government will remove privately owned buildings from the tax rolls . When owners of privately owned real estate are forced to sell to sell to tax exempt organizations or the government NYC loses the revenue . They will have to make this up somehow and the way to do that will be to raise taxes significantly elsewhere, and we all know that those increases will be pushed on to working and middle class people, and especially anyone who owns an apartment or home in NYC. At a time when New York is not creating jobs ( we are losing businesses to low tax states) and we have serious multi billion dollar deficits uncovered by four years of comptroller Lander mismanagement, this is the wrong direction to take. This also has the potential to upend and destroy every neighborhood in NYC.
