Mumma, Partner, Friend, Sister and Costume Bird. Saddened by the state of politics in this country, and fighting for my sons future.

The first conflict of the transition period: Sir Keir Starmer is planning to push ahead with announcing the Defence Investment Plan despite Andy Burnham wanting it delayed until he is in office The prime minister is preparing to announce the increase in defence spending - which has already led to huge government splits and the resignation of John Healey as defence secretary - as part of his legacy But Burnham's allies believe the decision should be his as it is he - and whoever his defence secretary is - that will have to live with the consequences....

I have never taken part in a coup against any Leader of the Labour Party and I am not going to start now. 2/3

Keir has given huge service to our country and I want to thank him for his leadership and dedication during such a challenging period. His decision marks the beginning of a transition and it is important that this process is conducted in an orderly and responsible way. I will put myself forward as part of this process. The country expects stability, seriousness and a continued focus on the issues that matter most and that is what it will get. As we move forward, our priority must be to work together to get the country back to where we all want it to be. People want to see progress on economic growth, cost of living, public services, housing and opportunities for the next generation. Political change should never distract from the responsibility to improve people's lives. The Labour movement has always been at its strongest when it looks forward with confidence and purpose. This is what we will do from here and we will make sure this transition is a positive process of renewal for our party and our country.

Laura Kuenssberg, "Is Prime Minister Keir Starmer about to quit his job? We could be on the verge of another change in No 10. And what does that say about us as a country?" Easy, Brexit has consumed yet another Prime Minister The Prime Minister who lasts will be the one who calls out the populist far right, addresses misinformation online, on TV, in the papers, and brings in the economic rewards from increased trade with the EU which means fewer if any cuts to public services, the poor or the disabled It's as simple as that
