Este encuentro fortalece los lazos entre Puerto Rico y las Islas Baleares, y nos permite intercambiar ideas, experiencias y modelos exitosos que impulsen el crecimiento sostenible, la innovación y la creación de empleos en nuestra isla.

Como Congresista, logré asignar fondos para el Advanced Skills Training Barracks en Fort Buchanan. Hoy, como Gobernadora, ponemos la primera piedra de esta importante instalación, que fortalecerá el entrenamiento de nuestros militares en la isla.

El encuentro además reunió a líderes de la nación en política exterior. Un honor además compartir con la excongresista Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, mi amiga, primera mujer hispana en el Congreso de los Estados Unidos y primera mujer en presidir la Comisión de Relaciones Exteriores en la Cámara de Representantes. — From the Miami Security Forum, we positioned Puerto Rico as a key hub for U.S. security and economic development. We engaged with ambassadors and legislators allied with the United States, strengthening bilateral dialogue—including with Acting Consul General Gilberto Minaya of the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Miami. The gathering also brought together leaders in foreign policy. It was an honor to converse with former Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen—a friend, the first Hispanic woman to serve in the U.S. Congress, and the first woman to chair the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Puerto Rico is a strategic economic and national security asset for the United States.
