@spreadsheeticus I'm Scottish and I don't like scotch. I wish I had a taste for it but I just don't. Nobody in Scotland has found this out about me yet so I haven't been hanged. I do love a bourbon though. Maker's Mark is my favourite.

Bourbon is so superior to scotch that I don’t understand why anybody drinks scotch

@SoniaRGallego He is 85 years old - should think he doesn’t want to still be on TV even if he has the energy. I certainly don’t want to hear from someone who’s knowledge is based on training from before I was born (and I am pretty old!)

It’s quite surreal to note the last appearance of Prof Lord Robert Winston on the BBC was on the 14 Oct 2021. A long-running BBC presenter of science programmes and regular contributor to several shows, yet no where to be seen on the state broadcaster after stating this fact:

"We're in the middle of October and he doesn't know his best team" 😬 Paul Merson believes that Arne Slot should be worried that he doesn't know his best team, and Liverpool should return to the midfield that won the Premier League last season 🔴

@function2fitnes We see a very different narrative, most if not all want to learn about the human, multi system issues, metabolic pattern recognition, rehab, meaningful sustained change. MT barely gets mentioned.

The narrative on social media suggests junior physiotherapists aren't interested in manual therapy. My clinical experience tells a completely different story. Over the past decade, I've spent hundreds of hours supervising junior staff and new graduates. If there's one consistent pattern I've observed, it's this: manual therapy techniques remain one of the most requested skills to learn. Week after week, during my supervision sessions in the NHS, junior colleagues actively seek guidance on hands-on approaches for MSK practice. They're not dismissing manual therapy – they're eager to understand when, how, and why to apply these techniques effectively within evidence-based practice. Perhaps the disconnect isn't about interest, but about how we're framing the conversation online versus what's happening in clinical settings. The next generation of physiotherapists seems keen to develop a comprehensive toolkit that includes manual skills alongside everything else modern practice demands. What's your experience? Are you seeing similar patterns in your clinical setting, or something different altogeth

Patients don’t usually seek for care for pain itself. (Unless severe) They come when it prevents them doing something significant; playing with their kids, tennis with friends, cycling to work. Their priority is usually to return to activity first. Resolving pain, second.

@DrGoblin3 Try going back to your rough home town, 30 years after you left, to work and having the people that didn't make it out. That's rough but makes you thankful that it wasn't you.

A 16 year old high schooler just ran 1:42.27. I have no words. This is the most impressive athletic feat in history. There are no superlatives. His performance makes high school Lebron look like nobody. Cooper Lutkenhaus take a bow.

@C_E_Anderson326 @baste_goose @PicturesFoIder Thanks for the feedback—I'll review the video again myself. Let's clarify any remaining doubts: what specific frame still confuses you?

@leslie_roy1 @scotathletics I have a thought that the seniors who are winning medals now are maybe not the best of their age group, but simply the best of who stayed in sport. It'll be interesting to see how many of today's U20/17/15 middle distance runners in Scotland make it to seniors hopefully a few.

Both India and Nepal have histories of government-linked atrocities. In India, the 1947 Partition caused up to 2 million deaths, and the 1984 anti-Sikh riots killed thousands, with state inaction alleged. Kashmir and Northeast conflicts involve reported extrajudicial killings. Nepal’s 1996-2006 civil war saw over 13,000 deaths, with both sides accused of torture and disappearances. Impunity persists in both nations. India has laws like the Prevention of Atrocities Act, but enforcement is weak. Nepal’s Truth Commission struggles with accountability. Progress is debated, and views on state responsibility vary widely.
