I know from personal experience: catching cancer early gives people more than a fighting chance.
As part of our National Cancer Plan we’re increasing the sensitivity of bowel cancer screening to diagnose and prevent thousands more cases.

Today @NHSEngland has announced that it will lower the threshold at which home-screening kits for bowel cancer will trigger a referral for further testing 📢 The NHS estimates that this change will lead to 35% more screening colonoscopies each year in England to help diagnose, rule out or even prevent bowel cancer. We welcome targeted support for those living in more deprived areas as they have been left behind for many years. We know they're less likely to take part in bowel cancer screening, which is one of the best ways to be diagnosed early with the disease when treatment has the best chance of working.
