Since Mojtaba has yet to appear in a live video broadcast since taking power (leading to rumors he was injured in the February 28th strikes), using Hamas as a vocal supporter is a way to tell the "Resistance Axis" that the line of succession is stable. It’s a message of continuity: "The father is gone, but the son and the funding remains.

Just so you understand how isolated the regime is, the Iran MFA put out a call readout between the MFA and Hamas. Main points: 1.Hamas conveyed condolences to Iran over Khamenei’s death and other casualties. 2.Hamas congratulated Iran on selecting Mojtaba Khamenei as the new leader. 3.Hamas condemned U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran. 4.Hamas affirmed Iran’s right to self-defense. 5.Iran’s FM thanked Hamas for its support and solidarity. 6.Iran reaffirmed it will continue full defense against its adversaries.

@EylonALevy read mrinank's letter. The guy is a philosopher / poet at heart and after setting himself up for life through anthropic, he's going to do things that spiritually feed him. Yes - he obviously has concerns about the direction AI is going in but this post is fear-mongering.

This is really scary. AI models now know when they’re being tested and change their behavior. They are delivering keeping secret secrets from their human creators while doing things no one understands and no one planned. We are at the end of a sci-fi movie.

I don't understand the cynical comments below. This is not narcissism or self-indulgence. This is a serious reflection at an inflection point for humanity. I don't know Mrinank, but I do know that A.I. is an amplified reflection of humanity. And a brilliant mind with a poetic heart is exactly who should be in place, safeguarding how AI engages with us. I'm sad Anthropic is losing Mrinank. I do hope his voice will continue to be heard, even (or especially) if expressed through poetry, so that we can navigate to a proper future.
