The defender hasn’t even reacted when Muirhead takes the touch round Leonard. Clutching at straws big time here. It’s a stick on red card.

think this is a red tbh - too many people are basing their judgements on the fact Muirhead is slower than a week in Bar L - but that's not actually relevant. He's miles ahead of the 'covering' defender until he gets hauled back

@FootyCentralX In the SPIRIT of the game that’s absolutely a red card but we play to laws, not morals. Altena would have engaged with Muirhead at least 25 yards from Hearts goal. It’s not a clear DOGSO for me.

@FootyCentralX You’ve heard of Pythagoras right? Using simple maths, Altena is probably 55 yards in a straight line from from goal. Muirhead is 35 yards to the right on the touchline. That means Muirhead is 65 yards from goal. He’d have to collect the ball and beat Altena to get his shot away.

If (and it’s a big IF) that’s why it was given, fair enough. To sound like a ‘Well fan, I’d like a consistent red for that sort of prof. foul. If it’s for denying a “clear” goalscoring opportunity it should be an easy appeal to win because it’s not in any way, shape or form.

Kevin Clancy shouldn’t need VAR to bail him out there but he knows it’s there, it’s a clear red.
We can all agree the DOGSO rule is nonsense but referees relying on VAR to bail them out is worse.
