@Jessethefree Okay let's get rid of some misnomers. Under socialism you can own a business. "Owning the means of production" means - society, as a whole, collectively owns resources like land, factories, and infrastructure. Production is geared towards meeting people's needs, and not profit.

If people want to own the means of production, they can start a business.

And I’m not even mad at that because socialism as a whole and democratic socialism in particular was a very young system that we wouldn’t have had a ton of data on. He would of course have seen the ussr devolve, but Sweden was a pretty new thing as demsoc.

@ThomasMart31732 @elonmusk Yep. I’ve read history too and understood that he at one point considered himself socialist. But he became disillusioned with it. Also worth noting that socialism has a pretty consistent trend of devolving into totalitarianism but I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.

@GoodWolf359 @elonmusk 1984 is a critique of totalitarianism and the psychology of control. It is not a critique or advocate economic systems. Orwell got shot in the throat fighting in the Spanish Civil War for the Party of Marxist Unity.

I need someone to explain something to me. Something I have been struggling with for years. Whenever someone's free speech is violated, no one uses State variations of the 1A. They use the 1A. No one claims that the states can violate 1A because it only applies to Congress. 1/

Complaining about feeding families in need. It is because that is what capitalism has taught them to do. I don't believe they genuinely want those families to starve.

You tell somebody in real life that you don't think no human being on this planet should be homeless & they look at you like you got 3 heads. No human being should be homeless or hungry.....those are basic human needs
