@HannahPerkin Sigh! Austerity depresses aggregate demand. The fiscal stimulus from the furlough scheme means debt (at historically low rates) in the short term but is more than paid for in the long run. Plus you don’t have the social costs of unemployment.

In discussion on whether to extend the furlough scheme which is keeping small businesses from going under and thousands of people employed, Kent County Councillor says "not my generation that will suffer having to pay it back so if you're happy, good luck".....
