Any Habs fan have any perspective on this? I know things haven't gone well with Kidney in Laval and he's in Trois-Rivières right now, but he's only 22 and was a 2nd round pick. Chiasson is same age, was drafted later, has one career AHL point, and hasn't stayed healthy much

Hunter Shepard and Jake Chiasson have been traded to Montreal in exchange for forward Riley Kidney. #Sens. Obviously since this trade happened after the deadline, they’re not eligible for NHL playoffs or regular season games. Minor league trade.

The Senators behind the scenes had been lobbying the NHL for quite a while on the forfeited 1st RD pick and as the league said in the statement what got traction was that the Dadonov screw-up happened under former ownership and former management. The more the league thought about it, the more that hit home.
A $1M fine is not nothing, but the Sens for sure are satisfied with this result, getting the 32nd overall pick, and happy to put it behind them and move forward.

@Zex1945 @mndamico I love how everyone says “we aren’t winning anyways”. They are 7th in the NHL with bad goaltending most of the year. I highly doubt it too, but anything can happen when you get in. Even a series win will be great for development. Or would you rather lose to get a better pick lol

Waivers isn't an option either.
Having just recalled Jacob Fowler, the earliest they can recall Reinbacher, if they so choose, while Fowler remains on the roster is March 16th.

@B_Canadian_Ape I was in Erie PA for work last year and saw a couple playoff games against Saginaw. I was very disappointed with Parekhs attitude. When things weren’t going his way he would keep pouting and complaining. So skilled though. I hope he becomes a star because I like the flames

As per the great @mndamico, a Robert Thomas deal would’ve required Hage + Guhle. Canadiens need more Guhles, not fewer. Their top D (Matheson/Dobson/Hutson) are dynamic but not physical. And the Egyptian Magician? Keep him. He's going to be a good one.

@_JordanDecker The problem isn’t Dobes. He’s collected 22 of his last 26 points. The problem is the compact schedule because of the Olympics. It will get tougher down the stretch and teams are hot behind us. Dobes can’t play them all and we can’t afford to start “scheduled loss” Montembeault

Kinda odd timing considering the game Dobes played last night.
Fowler’s played one game in like the last 2 or 3 weeks. I’d give him some more games in Laval.
If Dobes falls into a rut then I’d do it.
