Bad remakes are so common now that even mustering the energy to point out they are happening has become tiresome. Moana, LOTR, Harry Potter, all in a week, like saying "our culture is eating itself" is cliche now. What's the point?

This is the Scream 7 situation all over again.
Attacking people for being excited about something they’re passionate about does nothing but turn people against your cause.
You can agree or disagree with J. K. Rowling’s views, that’s your right but she’s going to be rich and famous regardless if the HBO show fails or not (it won’t).
These kids, as well as all the hard working people behind the scenes deserve the success and so much more. They are literally dedicating their lives to creating something special and who are we to rob them of their moment?
The Harry Potter HBO show boycott has already failed and these so-called “activists” have no idea what they’re doing.
I seriously cannot wait for this show to be a runaway success.

Sobre minha reação ao trailer ter se tornado viral de uma maneira pejorativa: tá tudo bem, galera. Crio conteúdo de Harry Potter há 22 anos, desde os meus 14. Respiro esse mundo diariamente e estava ali sendo eu mesmo. No fim do dia sei que minha bolha e as pessoas que consomem meu conteúdo se identificaram, nem que seja um pouquinho. Ontem foi um dos dias mais felizes da minha vida como criador de conteúdo e ninguém vai apagar isso de mim. Menos de um ano atrás, perdi minha mãe, a pessoa que mais apoiava meus sonhos e meus conteúdos. Choro pelo menos uma vez por semana. E sim, o choro “real” que vocês tanto querem de mim seria esse, mas não me gravo chorando nessas horas, só uma única vez quando não consigo mesmo segurar. Agi daquela forma na reação, uma mistura de choro com euforia, pois meu cérebro também se emocionou e não soube lidar muito bem o que eu estava sentindo, pois muita coisa ainda me lembra ela, fora a adrenalina e ansiedade do trailer. Saiu aquele choro estranho mesmo, mas foi genuíno. Não que eu precise me justiçar, mas queria escrever sobre batalhas invisíveis. Se vocês acharam forçado, tudo bem, é tudo sobre percepção, né? Do meu lado continuarei empolgado e postaria essa reação sempre, todos os dias. Nunca vou evitar viver esse mundo por medo de julgamento. Hoje sou eu o “viral”, amanhã serão outros que talvez não tenham saúde mental para lidar com tamanha exposição. Cuidem-se! 💛

Fun fact, Tolkien actually did work very briefly on a sequel to LOTR called The New Shadow, but only completed 13 pages. He scrapped it because it felt too depressing and would remove what made the trilogy so good, instead of expanding it.

@koosamagoopaloo I’m afraid you need to do more research. Netflix is actually trying to get into the theater business. WB resources would’ve helped them accomplish that. Netflix has been releasing media in theaters more and more.
