Well it looks like the UK could be the first country to replicate the Saylor perpetual preferred model outside of the US. Smarter Web have just proposed a capital reduction, which is a balance sheet restructuring process that converts the locked share premium into distributable reserves. This is the first definitive step to issuing a preferred in the UK. "Such corporate actions could include the issuance of an alternative equity line which has attached to it a right to receive dividends" It still needs court approval and an IPO of course so not expecting anything until Q4 at the earliest but the path is now clear. Bitcoin-backed products are going to eat fixed-income markets all around the world.

Back from Bristol. Key takeaway: The power of Bitcoin is the fundamentals of the asset class combined with the network of people who use it. The people in Bitcoin are pulling the future into the present. Actually dedicating their lives (Tim especially) to advancing the adoption of sound money - because they understand how that shapes the future of businesses, and of future generations. A bit of a mixed article from the FT for me - there are some points I agree with and others I see differently, including the headline. That said, I’m a fan of Bitcoin debate in the UK’s traditional press, and I appreciate the time taken to cover the story. What an event the unconference was! So good to meet some familiar faces again and to meet new ones. So many professionals in the rooms. From the big hitters like @phongle and @ColeMacro through to some of the smaller names in the space. It was also great to learn about how others are adapting the playbook, with @AfricaBitCorp running a lending platform that is like turning $STRC on its head and creating their own engine, to @stackbtc_ working on M&A opportunities to drive revenue and build their treasury another way. So much innovation in the space! Of course a huge shout out to @TimKotzman @ejuline @BTCTMedia and our very own @asjwebley @Croesus_BTC and @smarterwebuk for all their work in putting on the unconference. I’m already hyped for next year!
