@DavidM_Friedman So he was heading off to invade a sovereign country in order to steal land in pursuit of the 19th century colonial ideology of Zionism. Get out of the Occupied Palestinian Territories and stay out of other countries territory!

I was in a synagogue last night in the center of Israel. As the prayer service continued, a tall handsome young man stood in front of the Torah Ark, his faced pressed against the velvet curtain, for what seemed like half an hour. When he finished, I asked why the long and fervent prayer. He said he was leaving that night to fight in Lebanon in order to defend his nation against Hezbollah, and he was praying for the success of his mission. As he left, the entire congregation stood and clapped and wished him well. To those outside of Israel praying for the Jewish State, try to imagine what life is like here. The daily dash to a shelter with small children or an elderly relative, the knowledge that a beloved son, daughter, spouse or patent is defending the nation and in harm’s way, and the well publicized threats from enemies to destroy us all. If you’re not here, you won’t directly experience these traumas. But try to imagine them nonetheless as you pray and let your feelings drive you to seek God’s mercy with even greater intensity. It is an important contribution that can be made from anywhere on earth.

@declanganley If only you could have found that sort of voice when the Israelis were massacring 18,000 children and 30,000 women in Gaza. Bricks and mortar and the performative matter more to you than human life.

This is a terrible and deaf decision by the government of Israel. Inexcusable, the justifications are unacceptable. I hope to see an appropriate apology, and undertaking that this will never happen again.

Today, for the first time in centuries, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem was prevented from celebrating Palm Sunday Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, having been stopped and turned away by Israeli Police.

@DanMulhall Indeed. All could have been spared if there had been any integrity over the talks in Oman. But the US, pushed by Israel has acted with deep dishonesty and the opportunity is now likely lost.

At the beginning of the Iran war, most dismissed idea of a ground assault as it would likely cost so many U.S. lives. Things now seem to be stumbling in that direction. A quick win seems unlikely which means a protracted conflict with spiralling economic consequences. bbc.co.uk/news/live/cje4…

@JohnCleese Your continued bigotry and your disgraceful conflation of Islam with terrorism is insulting and beneath contempt. If you conflated Judaism with the terrorism of Zionism you would be cancelled. Congrats you have earned a block! The great John Cleese reduced to a sad old bigot.

@jameshkellett Both websites failed to research it. That failure does not mean it should not be considered a championship title. It was the equivalent then to what Tailteann Cup is now. We wouldn’t fail to consider that a C’ship title. It was a massive deal back then, 8000 people at that final.

@Irish7Summits Yes and an O’Byrne Cup in 2002. Neither are considered a championship or league title in the records. Both the GAA website & RTE note the same

Some day to be a Carlow man🇲🇱 Really special moment for the county, our first league or championship football title since 1944. Something tells me we won’t be waiting as long for the next one!

@EoinJoeyJordan @damienwlr It should be banned specifically where it manipulates county or club crests and makes them completely unrecognisable. Canva is free and simple to use. Ai is lazy and in many cases the outcome is ludicrous

@sedaye_iran Did he pop into the Burger King on the way back to his home in Maryland to grab one of those cardboard crowns, because that’s as near as that fraud is ever getting to being a king!

@JohnCleese Behold elitist revisionism. The British supercharged the trans Atlantic slave trade to massively enrich the empire at the expense of slaves and only when they had rinced nations of their wealth did they decide to grow a conscience, and even then they compensated the slave OWNERS!

@JohnCleese Iran had democracy and the British and Churchill decided they didn’t like the flavour of it because they couldn’t continue to remove their oil to enrich the empire. So they overthrew their democratically elected leader and installed the Shah. That’s British democracy at work!

@cilliandoyle87 Correct. We should also amend our terminology when talking about most of that list. Two are superpowers, 1 sits between the world of the superpowers and the regional powers and the other 7 are regional powers. Then there’s the issue of how farcical the G7 actually is.

@StateDept NATO is not your extended army. NATO was not attacked so NATO does not need to be involved in this war. Try war mongering somewhere else. The world is wise to this sort of nonsense now.

SECRETARY RUBIO: The U.S. is constantly asked to help in wars and we have. But when we had a need, it didn’t get positive responses from NATO. A couple leaders said that Iran was not Europe’s war. Well, Ukraine isn’t our war, yet we’ve contributed more to that fight than anyone.

@Ben_Scallan Why do you get to decide whether some cultural changes are good or not? What you disagree with someone else will agree with. You don’t have a monopoly on the opinion of what a society wants or doesn’t want.

Nobody disagrees with this. All we're saying is that not all cultural change is good or organic, and that people are entitled to broadly like their culture as-is and not want it radically transformed overnight by unwanted artificial policy.
Ciaran Cannon@ciarancannon

@Ben_Scallan Culture isn’t something preserved under an imaginary glass dome for centuries, untouched and pure. It lives, breathes, absorbs and evolves. Anyone who thinks that our culture has been static for centuries doesn’t understand culture, it’s that simple. It will always be evolving.

@sharrond62 Tell that to the 10,000 girls in Gaza who won’t ever get to play any sport because they were massacred as you and others cheerled those firing the rockets at them. And when people protested in their memory and for Palestinian worth, you criticised them.

@simon_schama 18,000 children were massacred brutally by the Israeli state in Gaza over the past 3 years and you sided with & cheerled those firing rockets at them. Do you really think we believe you care a damn about innocent Iranians when you didn’t care a jot about 18,000 Palestinian kids?

@paddymacc1 Fiction. Name a single candidate or potential candidate who was blocked from petitioning county councils for their vote or petitioning TDs to give them required support to get on the ticket? Failure isn’t blockage, it’s failure.
