I spoke to an Australian Afghan war veteran who told me that the Australian government literally paid for billboards in Afghanistan offering to pay random Afghans to come forward with war crime allegations. What country on Earth would do this to itself? Tell me: When does the Taliban plan on holding war crimes tribunals into their own people? It’s disgraceful that a decorated war hero has been pursued under allegations of war crimes for the past 5 years. Only a small handful of people would understand what it’s like fighting the Taliban and having them trying to kill you. Now he will most likely be judged by people who have no idea about the army or what it’s like to go to war. Our war heroes deserve better.
