At least 14 males ran in the Female category in UK parkrun today. One got 1st Female. He’s now amassed 101 1st Female finishes - 100 more than the 1st Male he got once in nearly 5 years running in the Male category. Another was Labour councillor Kaz Self who famously tried…

@ObviousRises I am endlessly stumped by the short sightedness of some people. Do you notice that its not about AI ability anymore but about the price? And do you notice that prices are dropping fast? How about token cost cut by 90%? Can you add 1+1?

Nope. We're becoming a #MilitantDemocracy - no reason to let foreign cognitive warfare effects take place here free of charge. Expressing support for designated terrorist groups is not on, is it Jeremy?

Banning Cenk Uyghur and Hasan Piker from entering the UK is an absurd and cowardly decision from an increasingly authoritarian government. Let us call this what it is: an attack on the freedom to criticise Israel, as well as the UK government’s own complicity in genocide.

The timeline. I watched the whole incident again. 45:55 corner is awarded. 46:20 (20 seconds already over added time) Saka having sauntered to the corner flag finally puts the ball down to take the corner. Ref blows for HT. Ref allowed the extra 20 seconds of clock time specifically for the ball to be brought to the corner, but refused to grant the additional 10 seconds it would have taken to actually execute the set piece. Had Saka got a move on knowing they were already over added time the corner would have been taken. We're used to seeing players do exactly that, acting with a sense of urgency in such moments. Because Saka has been drilled to dawdle like this at every corner, all season, he was unable to do anything other than that. Arsenal got called out. Unsurprisingly they don't like it. PGMOL take note, we are paying attention.

Question Time has been called out for a 'dangerous' lack of balance on its panel – with Zack Polanski suggesting the BBC had allowed a billionaire to buy 'an entire episode' #Echobox=1779966688-2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">thenational.scot/news/26145850.…

I hear you but something important to consider it’s estimated that 99% of the data used for training is based on IP owned by Disney, Netflix, MGM, Lionsgate, Paramount, WBD etc. They don’t care 🤷. They don’t want you to generate their ip ! But they accept that it can be trained on. It’s why Netflix, Amazon, Lionsgate, Disney , Paramount are all using AI now.

As expected, not one person brought up the huge theft of creative work that most generative AI models are based on. Not only that, but they used AI video - presumably generated by a model based on theft. A huge lack of balance, and a terrible missed opportunity to educate the public about the exploitative nature of generative AI, which I hope people complain about.

If you're working fully remote, you should be taking a 20% pay cut. You aren't commuting, you aren't buying lunch, and half of you are doing laundry on company time anyway. Let's be real.

“I don’t know if the left totally realise how close we are to having a complete overtake of fascism in this country.” Critical theorist and Green party member Louisa Toxværd Munch says the left needs to offer a unified alternative to Reform in Makerfield – and if that alternative is Andy Burnham, she's happy to back him.

Harry Maguire, who is English and Northern Irish… … has been demographically replaced in the England World Cup team by an African named ‘Addji Keaninkin Marc-Israel Guéh’ born in Ivory Coast. What’s the point in a ‘national’ football team if someone who is NOT from that nation can join? Maguire should play for England. Guéh should play for Ivory Coast. Common sense. I’m sure Maguire isn’t even allowed to contest this decision because, as his shirt says in the photo below, ‘no room for racism’.

@ShakeyRed1 @Sam_Dumitriu What if they earn close to the cliff edge? Say £73000, you think you'd be able to get them to work extra hours? Anyone just over £75000 would want to reduce their hours. Seems kinda stupid.

Having staff willing to work extra hours knowing what they earn in overtime is all theirs will surely earn those businesses extra revenue that the government will reap extra taxes from. Those staff members have extra money in their pockets and will go spend It elsewhere. It sounds like a win win to me.

Reform have proposed abolishing tax on overtime for every worker earning less than £75k. My take: 1. This appears to be an import of Trump’s extremely dumb (but clearly popular) ‘no tax on tips’ policy. 2. If your aim is to boost growth and incentivise work, this isn’t a good use of £5bn. It’s a luxury policy in all honesty: can they honestly say £5bn couldn’t go further elsewhere (either in tax cuts, infrastructure investment, or just improving public services)? 3. This will likely create lots of avoidance opportunities. 4. There will also be genuine cases of unfairness. What about workers with second jobs? 5. This is likely to create a massive cliff-edge problem where taking an extra hour of overtime or getting a raise leaves someone thousands of pounds worse off.

The leader of the Lib Dems, and the leader and deputy leader of the Green party, think some women have penises. In itself, it seems like a relatively unimportant matter. But it is symptomatic of a contempt for science and evidence-based truth. Could you vote for a flat-Earther?
