My first instinct was to support the UK’s social media ban for under 16s. Protecting children from grooming, exploitation and harmful content seems like common sense. But I’m seeing a lot of opposition to it, so I’m genuinely curious as to why? One thing making me second guess is that platforms like bluesky are exempt, while at the same time there’s a push to let 16 year olds vote. To me that looks less like child protection and more like controlling where young people get their information. Interested to hear other perspectives.

That's also why the debt doesn't matter. You demand that we pay you back? We point guns at you and say, "Make us."

You could use something like a VPN to get around it, but they are trying to crack down on that as well. With the excuse of "kids are using VPNs to see dangerous sites!"

@JaySElliott73 @TheAkoFiles This has nothing to do with protecting kids. This is just an effort to monitor and control the flow of information by requiring everyone to use their IDs online. If they decide they don't like what you are seeing and saying online, they will refuse access from your ID.
