@AlTheBoss03 When Alejandro Kirk's ground ball with 1 out with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th of the 7th game of the 2025 World Series was headed toward Mookie Betts and I realized, Mookie won't screw it up, he's the best we've got.

Be honest — when's the last time you were GENUINELY happy as a sports fan? 😤 Not just relieved. Not just "well at least we won." Actually, jump out of your seat, hug a stranger, can't stop smiling HAPPY. 🏆 When was it?

I used to see two movies a week in a theatre. Minimum. Dates. With friends. Alone, if I was just interested in the film. I was younger and had more time, obviously. But I honestly cannot recall the last movie I saw in a theatre.

#NowPlaying #5DebutAlbums7579 Dire Straits | S/T I always enjoy Dire Straits' debut more than I expect revisiting it. I believe their best was still to come, but there's so much to love here (and not just Sultans Of Swing). Perfect sunny day music, but won't be in my 5.

My not-so-shortlist for #5DebutAlbums7579 looks like this. 1977 alone could have produced a hearty top five, and there's at least half a dozen here that should feel nailed on, plus plenty of other goodies that could twist my arm. Here's to the next three weeks...

@nut_history It is overrated. Impressive for sure, but I hear some put it on a level with Mays catch, which is absurd. Guys like Lofton or Andruw Jones would have been standing under it.

@JeffDuncanson @gibeau_orange @colbycosh Boyden and King definitely, becuase they both faked being indigenous, major stories about it covered in media. Their books were taught in all high schools, middle schools, and many teachers and profs have withdrawn from teaching them, or if taught, appropriation is the topic.

Rewatching a lesser-known Howard Hawks film, The Criminal Code. What’s most impressive is how, in 1930, when motion pictures stopped moving, Hawks managed to turn a stage play into something highly cinematic. Also, a very impressive early, pre-Frankenstein, Karloff.
