The US president dismissed both of the UK two Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers as “old and broken down” and calling them “toys”.
It’s understood the UK government has been in discussion with the Navy for months over whether Britain should send one of its warships to the Big Apple on July 4.
These discussions are still going on and no firm decision has been made. But the idea has concerned some in the military community, following Trump’s recent disparaging remarks against the UK and NATO.
