@esjesjesj Let's be real, after Oppenheimer the Academy likely pulled him to one side and said " Chris, my dude, you're not getting away with that behind the camera diversity bullshit again"

@seerg @dcoya64 lol that is one hell of a take I’ll give you that much. If it helps you justify a race swap solely for the sake of meeting Oscar nomination requirements (look em up, it’s crazy) than more power to you. I’m still excited for that Zulu remake tho!

@ColLalegende The explanation you’re probably thinking of is barely an explanation. Something that is already abnormally tall shows up in a coffee shop abnormally tall and then, “APPARENTLY”, grows. That is not something that goes unnoticed, isn’t responded to, and sure doesn’t happen quietly

@agathaismyfrie1 He was being facetious… OBVIOUSLY. If he had actually considered and asked any of those other actors, don’t you think he would’ve been the one rattling them off? THINK.

@NolanAnalyst Frankly, it's lazy to have to rely on a lack of color in order to convey "my world is dangerous and scary."

Christopher Nolan Archives
Emma Thomas reveals Christopher Nolan never wanted THE ODYSSEY to portray the Mediterranean as a sunny paradise: “Chris said right from the beginning that he didn’t want a film set in the sunny version of the Mediterranean. He wanted the seas to feel like a threat. He wanted the weather to feel like a threat. He wanted this to feel like a world in which these people feel small in the context of nature.” (via @empiremagazine)

Christopher Nolan has always been a wildly overrated director Other than his Batman movies (very entertaining but huge flaws) and for some people Interstellar, it's a lot of try-hard slop for the masses Compare his best to the best of the 80s/90s and it's not in same league

@nonregemesse The eighth episode of the first season is based entirely on Vaemond bringing their legitimacy to court, Jace reminds Rhaenyra that his rise to the Iron Throne if she doesn’t take it back by force, and you think the immorality behind her action isn’t demonstrated??

One of the failings of House of the Dragon is to demonstrate the morality of the society it depicts. Rhaenyra’s infidelity is depicted as a cosy arrangement when in actual fact having several illegitimate children and passing them off as legitimate was an extreme violation of her position and the morals of society.

@guy__t_ler Nosferatu was soulless for a so-called passion project and definitely proved a turning point for a lot of people evaluating him. I've only seen that and The Witch (which was years ago, enjoyed it tho), so I'll reserve judgement.

I actually cannot believe that there are people that hate Robert Eggers with a strong passion. I really thought he was one of the few unanimously praised directors working these days.

@_bonesmcgee THEY DID GET HIS FACE RIGHT. Orlok is a vampiric Romanian nobleman. That’s how they would present themselves

@m_stormwitch perfectly, but Wicked did just as well for the wholly original fantasy world that it takes place in (2/2).

@LeftTys where did I tear Wicked down? I liked Wicked part 1 lol but it's objective that Nosferatu costumes were way better. It's called having critical thinking skills

@m_stormwitch When you asked where people were when the Academy gave Wicked the win and right then and there now when you claim Nosferatu’s was objectively better. That’s not critical thinking. That’s bias. Yes, Nosferatu replicated 1930s German AND 16th-century Romanian attire (1/2)

@alexL_E_I This is one of the most pretentious things I’ve read on this app and that’s saying something. How does Nolan, a veteran director at this point, lack mise en scene when that’s the foundation of every single scene in a movie? What the hell does this even mean??

@Brizksie Cause people are putting it in convos that it doesn’t belong in, Not to mention, Anytime a movie is praised for being Perfect or a masterpiece, People will look for Nitpicks and Flaws, It’s called constructive criticism, however this comment is wrong
