The 4WD tractor is arguably the patriarch of most grain farms It’s always been one of the coolest pieces of equipment in my mind When I drive by a dealership they always catch my eye Let’s see those high HP workhorses!

@HappyMotorhead No computer, no chips, no emissions problems. You could rebuild moms car in the driveway and run it another 100,000 miles.

@RetroCoast Oh ya! Bought some stuff out of there back in the day. I get a lot of stuff for my 66 F100 from JC Pony parts now. They specialize in mustang parts but have a lot of other stuff. Don’t know if they’re related.

Refinery workers on the job in Borger, Texas, 1943. Perhaps some of y'all more intimate with the workings of a refinery can speculate on exactly what they're doing. In any case, it's a superb image. Can't you just feel the grittiness and hear the sounds of the machinery? There was a war on and these men were doing their part to feed the beast. Taken by John Vachon.

@Comichistorians So I’m watching this clip with no sound on because frankly I’m not that interested and then Cloris Leachman pops in the scene and I automatically start laughing. She’s just so funny!

@MrsMayhem13 That’s awesome. I logged from the mid 80’s to the early 2000’s. I loved those D6D’s. Wish I still had one.

So, I talked to my dad and passed along your hat tips and thank yous! He’s very humbled by the response. A few points of clarification- this footage was 1990, taken at the end of the road on Smith Ridge which is right next to the Floodwoods in North Idaho, and this was an old growth patch of Cedar and White Pine so most of the trees you see coming down are White Pine!
Mandi@MrsMayhem13

I know this won’t be as cool to most people as it is to me because it’s my daddy and his crew logging at the tail end of the 80s, but the cool thing about this is my dad edited this video using only camcorders, tapes, vcrs and a tv. I can’t even recall how many times he edited the end so his arm going up in triumph would match the “you’re the best” in the song 😂 Simply The Best by Tina Turner - Logging Edition

The Biblical Man
The Biblical Man@Biblicalman·
Joseph of Arimathea pulled a corpse off a cross with his bare hands. Blood under his fingernails. The weight of a dead man sagging into his arms. He wrapped God in linen, pressed the fabric into wounds that were still wet. Nicodemus brought seventy-five pounds of burial spice. A king's funeral for a man the world just murdered. They carried Him into a hole in the rock and rolled the stone shut. And everything you've ever done went in with Him. Every night you can't sleep because of what you did. Every morning, you can't look in the mirror. The thing you did to her. The thing you did to them. The lie you've been carrying so long it feels like bone. The version of you that drinks alone and pretends tomorrow will be different. That man was buried with Christ. Stone sealed. Done. Not managed. Not in therapy. Not on a payment plan with God where you slowly earn your way back. Buried. In a tomb. Under rock. Gone. Three days of silence. Three days of a cold body in the dark. Then the stone moved. And when He walked out, the grave clothes were folded on the slab. He didn't stumble out tangled in death. He left it sitting there like a man who's done with the clothes he used to wear. Lazarus needed someone to unwrap him. Death still clung to him even after he was breathing. Jesus folded His own burial linen and walked out clean. That's the difference between religion and resurrection. Religion unwraps you slowly. Asks you to manage your sin. Attend the class. Read the book. Try harder next week. Resurrection says the man who walked into that tomb is dead. The man who walked out doesn't know him. You're not fixing the old you. The old you is in a sealed tomb in Jerusalem, and he's not coming back. The man reading this, the one who thinks he's too far gone, you're not too far. You're already buried. The funeral happened two thousand years ago. Now get up. The stone's already moved. The linen's already folded. Walk out.

This is my truck. I restored it myself, except for the paint and the automatic transmission. It took me five years. I started with a well-loved but tired 100,000-mile truck that had been owned by the original owner for nearly 50 years. Then I got a notebook, a camera, and started taking it apart. I just removed the next obvious thing. I'd take pictures from a couple of angles, take notes, remove them, tag them, sort them, and store them. I eventually stripped the truck all the way down to the two bare frame rails. Then I had that frame blasted and powder coated. Next, I restored every subassembly and component. Then I started reassembly. Believe it or not, I just used my notes in reverse order, and as you'd hope, it worked perfectly. It was rust-free, but I had the paintwork done by Musclecar Restorations in Chippewa Falls, WI.

We mourn the passing of World War II veteran Gilbert “Choc” Charleston — a proud Choctaw warrior and American hero — who passed away at the age of 101. During World War II, Charleston served as a tank driver with the 739th Tank Battalion, advancing across Europe through France, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. He endured the brutal winter of the Battle of the Bulge — one of the most grueling and decisive campaigns of the war — where courage, resilience, and sacrifice defined a generation. Through it all, he served with honor and unwavering determination. Gilbert “Choc” Charleston leaves behind a legacy of patriotism, strength, and deep love for his country. We honor his service. We remember his sacrifice. God bless this American hero.
