@99RaviRajendran Yes an inherent &troubling conflict of interest standing in the way of what'd otherwise be much easier to solve. Dr Daszak exactly the wrong person to investigate origin in Wuhan. How can anything be accomplished w such an inherently conflicted process filled w conflicted people?

@MJnanostretch I honestly have been reflecting a different picture all along over these years on how the truth is out there in the open before our eyes yet it is logically messy & not convenient for science itself as it is as it takes the future $'s in funding away from Virology to begin with!!

1/3 Origin has become a debate of words. Many times idle words of great talkers with winning points- that change nothing. To date, still unsolved, what origin s/b about is bringing regulation that ensures origin auditors have all the onsite access needed to do their job.

@99RaviRajendran Not absolute certainty just certainty beyond a reasonable doubt. The Market virologists &supporters doing their best (worst) to cram a square peg thru a round hole.
What s/b shared already been identified. But need independent auditors to find origin not virologists w no access.

@MJnanostretch We’re unlikely to get absolute certainty at this stage, but we can still raise confidence and narrow uncertainty with a more rigorous, standardized approach - Agree, now, on what data must be preserved and shared in the first weeks of any outbreak.

@99RaviRajendran Made clear by the covid19 outbreak in Wuhan that the WIV ultimately serves the state not science. Did we not know this? We certainly did but playing the odds collaborated anyway. Even Westrn freedom hasnt produced much interest in finding the truth. Civilian science pushed aside.

@MJnanostretch Responsibility sits with WIV & Its Collaborators for timely transparency and cooperation from the early days of the outbreak. When access to necessary data is purposefully limited, it directly continues to constrain the investigation process at the basic level even after 6 years!

2 When experts say evidence suggests a Market spillover is "most likely" what's rly meant is more of the avail evidence has made the Market "more likely" than other hypotheses that have not been properly investigated. Most important &often missing is the fact of no clear answer.

Basic science can work wonders. Philanthropy funds &scientists experiment, &, rarely, often by accident, a stunning new benefit to humanity is born, immediately or down the line. But fanning the flames of a pathogen's fire; this is not that. Risk outweighs any potential reward.

A 2014 paper by Troy Sutton describes gain of function experiments where H7N1 flu was serially passaged 10 times so that it was capable of airborne spread among ferrets—and found it retained high lethality. Led to zero vaccines but according to Fauci, it was a risk worth taking.

Why have risky virologists like Drs Daszak &Rasmussen tried to label me a creepy fraud, conspiracy theorist &block the info above, ie that missing origin data s/b attained by audit? I can only guess: Their field operating w/o a mechanism to properly investigate is unconscionable.

Investigations SAGO continues to request be conducted independently, below. Why? Because acquiring such data is the standard expectation of global public health regs. Yes the very audits haughty virologists &supporters claim are fantasies of "useful idiots w zero expertise".

@StavaRune She's proven more inflexibly biased and volatile than solid, unfortunately. On a crusade at this point. *Origin got off on a very bad foot (w all the crazy politics) and has never been able to find a solid footing in the science that distinguishes itself from the politics.

@StavaRune Wrong I've an intellectually honest stance that matches Flo's, too bad you won't dare see it. Fact is I commended Flo highly for snagging 3yr delayed CCDC data (called her a hero) &condemned all the horrid attacks on her. Ive consistently call out unfair abuse wherever I see it.

@Ticklicker56 Thanks for the find. Lab audits would be incredibly helpful... they'd get underneath all these clues into the needed but missing details of the unpublished research going on in Wuhan prior to the outbreak.

In pursuing info about recombination in CoV, I found 2 papers resulting from collaboration betw virologists at Utrecht Univ (Netherlands) & virus researchers in China;
in 2013 (👇) they used 'reverse engineering' to alter genome of PEDV (an AlphaCoV that infects pigs), &...

*W valid suspicion of a leak following the outbreak in Wuhan only corruption would hire Dr Daszak as an origin inspector; &media reports SZL inventoried lab sequences &tested employees are not valid evidence. Conflicted auditors w no access- &a novel pandemic virus on the loose.

Consistently agnostic on origin, I've not found any compelling reason to move off the fence. Ive clearly expressed I think the data can &s/b assessed, &w all avail information considered, the case is clearly unsolved &indeterminable. Numerous experts &authorities see it this way.

SAGO assess the published evidence and say it leans toward zoonosis, while key data needed to assess a lab origin hasn’t been made available. You’ve got it backwards.
