Good reminder to ordinary Americans. Now somebody should maybe pass it along to the people running U.S. national security on Signal.
FBI Director Kash Patel@FBIDirectorKash

The @FBI has identified cyber actors associated with Russian Intelligence Services targeting users of commercial messaging applications, including Signal. The campaign targets individuals of high intelligence value, including current and former U.S. government officials, military personnel, political figures, and journalists.   Globally, this effort has resulted in unauthorized access to thousands of individual accounts. After gaining access, the actors can view messages and contact lists, send messages as the victim, and conduct additional phishing from a trusted identity. It's important for you to be aware and take action - this vulnerability is not with the application - but you as the end user.   The FBI and CISA have released a joint PSA to help you identify this activity and protect your accounts: ic3.gov/PSA/2026/PSA26…

This is what failure looks like. Trump's own counterterrorism director resigning over a war with Iran that never should have started. No more lies. No more chest-thumping. No more sending Americans to die for this administration's recklessness.
Joe Kent@joekent16jan19

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

Today, I officially filed to run for Congress in South Carolina’s 1st District. The people of this district need a fighter, not another politician focused on headlines, cable hits, and political games. I’m running to take on corruption, lower the cost of living, and fight for families and individuals who are working hard and still falling behind. I’m ready to take this seat back and make Washington answer to the Lowcountry.

On the #SaveAct, every Democrat in the House voted in support of National Voter ID included in the Freedom to Vote Act. Zero Republicans supported it. This isn't about Voter ID, it's about rigging the midterms so the GOP wins as the president has said.

This is heartbreaking. These Americans died in the Service of the nation, carrying out a mission asked of them by their government. For that, we owe them our gratitude, our prayers, and our solemn remembrance. Patriotism also requires honesty. The American people deserve answers. The public deserves to know whether our leaders are meeting this moment with the seriousness and competence our men and women in uniform deserve. We ask much of those who serve. We must demand no less of those who send them into harm's way.

In a moment this serious, the people asking for your vote should be willing to speak plainly. I am. Seven American service members are dead. Innocent children are dead. Congress must reclaim its authority over war.

Then why would you vote AGAINST the war powers resolution, @RepNancyMace!? Not only did you vote against it, you bragged that you did so "without hesitation." That vote was reckless. You and your colleagues are giving this administration a blank check to deepen another Middle Eastern war. Seven American service members are already dead. A tweet does not erase your vote.

The Iranian regime is a threat. But so is a presidency that ignores the Constitution. Donald Trump started this war without congressional authorization and without clearly telling the American people the end game or the cost. Meanwhile, the war is already estimated to be costing about $3.7 billion in its first 100 hours. Americans deserve better than another unauthorized war and another bill they are forced to pay.

Sen. Schatz: There are times when you go into a classified session and you walk out with a better understanding about the rationale behind the military action. This is not one of those times. We remain as confused as the American people are

Those in Congress who have stood by and excused this President’s unlawful use of force against Iran cannot now wash their hands of what has followed. When a president takes this nation toward war without the consent of the people’s representatives, and members of Congress choose silence or submission, they become answerable for the cost. Whatever one believes ought to be done in Iran, the question before us is larger than any one president and larger than any one moment. In our system of government, the power to bring America into war does not belong to one man. It belongs to the Congress of the United States, because the lives of our service members are too precious, and the fate of this Republic too grave, to be placed at the mercy of impulse, pride, or political convenience. The American people deserve honesty. Our men and women in uniform deserve clarity. Before this nation is drawn deeper into conflict, there must be a lawful debate, a defined objective, and a clear account of the sacrifice being asked of those who serve. If Congress will not summon the courage to fulfill its duty before more lives are lost, then it will have failed not only the Constitution, but the country itself.
