Can we all take a moment and remember we are not Ukrain. We have real problems at home. Including a dollar that is being destroyed through debt. 20 years ago we were basically debt free, now we owe 40 Trillion dollars. When Trump asked about being Paid back for the 180 billion given to Ukraine for a war they can’t Win, they told us to kick Rocks, and then asked for more money. Trump tried to resolve all of this with a rare Mineral deal. This would get our money back, but more importantly it would have made us a life long Partner with Ukraine. American boots on the Ground. That would have put an end to this War. Putin would have never fired on American troops in Ukraine, or American civilians working there to retrieve the Minerals. It was literally a WIN WIN, and he was obviously told to back out of the deal. So now we are back to people saying it’s America who needs to flip the bill for this War. We don’t want anyone killed on either side. We Want the war to end. We are not going to send them more money. It’s a money pit and again we are 40 Trillion in debt. So instead of saying Trump is failing, I say failing at what? We are no longer sending Billions of dollars the Zelensky. BTW, still no audit on the 180 billion we already spent. Buisness as usual is over. Give us the Mineral rights and we will start digging, and protect our interests. At this point I would say if you want our help it’s to End the war. Also does not help that we watch the EU turn their back on their own culture and lock people up for think speech. A mean tweet gets you years in prison while a rapest can get probation. All my opinion but the EU, the UK and Ukraine need to come to the table and end this War, or go it alone. We need to focus on removing our waste, and corruption as much as we can to save our dollar.

Utterly predictably, Putin rejects the unconditional ceasefire offered by Ukraine, sends Trump off on the errands of making the Russian invasion easier and denying Ukrainian sovereignty, while Trump claims he has accomplished something.

Today, a highly productive meeting took place in Kyiv between the diplomatic teams of Ukraine and the UK. We discussed our joint steps that could bring us closer to peace and accelerate diplomatic efforts. I’m grateful for the support. Ukraine is determined to do everything to end this war with a just and lasting peace as soon as possible. Next week, I will begin with a visit to Saudi Arabia. After my meeting on Monday with the Crown Prince, Ukrainian diplomatic and military representatives will stay for a meeting on Tuesday with the American team. The Ukrainian team will include Andriy Yermak, Andriy Sybiha, Rustem Umerov, and Pavlo Palisa. On our side, we are fully committed to constructive dialogue, and we hope to discuss and agree on the necessary decisions and steps. Ukraine has been seeking peace from the very first second of this war. Realistic proposals are on the table. The key is to move quickly and effectively.

July 4 election wouldn't just leave many Scots out of the country - but public buildings normally used as polling stations closed and counting staff also away. There are legal requirements about staffing. This will be an undemocratic mess but clearly Sunak doesn't give a toss.

@LesleyRiddoch I noticed she shut down every reference to the SNP throughout the programme. ' We will talk about that later ' There is such a lack of depth in the reporting. The journalists have almost all said that all the parties were, ' playing politics'. Easy to say but any evidence?

Turned on TV for last 15 mins of Laura Kuenssberg trying to 'get to the bottom' of what happened in Commons Gaza vote last week with ….. Lisa Nandy. In first 20 seconds she blamed SNP for 'storming out'. TV off.

@CatrionaBlack I was lucky enough to get a visit with 2 pupils who won a public speaking award some years ago. Quite an experience. So sad that we are out of all that.

After two and a bit years in the Commission, they finally let me loose in Brussels today! Must be 25 years since I last visited with Westminster colleagues to get a better understanding of our European institutions.🥲

He's back! New series of Mach à Seo with Ramsay MacMahon 10pm @bbcalba tonight - and this time going further afield. Tonight he visits Ljubljana in Slovenia. Well worth a watch. And yes, interest declaration, he's the talented TV presenter in the family!

@NicUalraig I watched the choir version but the Gàidhlig was so unclear. It could have been Swahili. The only word I made out was, 'Agus' pronounced A- Gus. (By them)

@MarionFMorrison Plainchant is one thing (love it), that 17th C vestige something else. I tried to watch but it was worse than a superhero comic. I need a time code, cos I'm not watching that shecht again!

Can anyone point me to a clip of Veni Creator from ydy? I want to hear John Urquhart 's brief, beautiful (and infinitely superior) translation without having to haul ass through the unnecessary rest.

@NicUalraig It comes about 2 thirds if the way through the Coronation. Actually I thought the Veni Creator Spiritus had already been translated into Gàidhlig. It appears in the Hymn book Seinnibh dhan Tighearna, p 33. With the title O Thig a-Nuas a Spioraid Naoimh.

Obh obh, some of the descriptions used nowadays. Just heard the Space X engineer say that the rocket had a "rapid unscheduled disassembly ." Wtaf is that? It blew up, just say it. I just hope no-one from CalMac heard it, that'd be a new reason for a breakdown.
