✅CONFIRMED: Hereditary Peers to be removed. The Bill cleared its final stages last night. We’ve been arguing for this for years. No one should be given an automatic place in Parliament because of the family they were born into. And now they won’t.

I have approved the Metropolitan Police’s request to ban the Al Quds march. I am satisfied doing so is necessary to prevent serious public disorder, due to the scale of the protest and multiple counter-protests, in the context of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Should a stationary demonstration proceed, the police will be able to apply strict conditions. I expect to see the full force of the law applied to anyone spreading hatred and division instead of exercising their right to peaceful protest.

Following the launch of @theCFHK’s Bypassing the Blockade report, Labour MP @MarkJSewards pressed Business & Trade Minister @RhonddaBryant on what the @UKGovernment is actually doing to stop dual-use goods from passing through #HongKong and into #Russia’s war machine. Interesting response from @biztradegovuk: secondary legislation for new sanctions end-use controls is coming. @RhonddaBryant when will it be implemented — and will it cover all Common High Priority List items?
