You probably slowly changed in the intervening 42 years since your Dad sadly passed. The fact you lost him at a fairly young age confirms the point being made. The absence of your father during your entire adult life had a big impact on you, which confirms why a father is so important.

Regarding the No Kings thing. Like or dislike Trump all you want. But you're wasting a fine Saturday morn/afternoon if you gather with fellow like minded people with silly signs. Just drove by a bunch of boomers with signs in an affluent suburb of Portland. Shaking their signs and hooting and hollering as I drove by. I gave them a Thumbs Down. Not because of their political opinions, but because they're wasting energy. Volunteer to walk a dog. Call a friend you haven't chatted to in ages. Scrub some graffiti. Be productive on a level that creates a real result. Gonna grab a morning beer and think on this a bit more. Thank you.

@kurri_jari Do you really feel harassed by somebody holding a sign and yelling? Toughen up. They are in their local communities and creating new groups within that community, probably makes impactful changes. Just ignore them if you don’t like it.

@LisaBritton In elementary school in the 1970s there was the slogan “anything boys can do girls can do better”. Why the need to invent a dishonest narrative complete with imaginary oppression?

The gaslighting is crazy. As a child in the 90s and into 2000s, we were supported and encouraged in every way. Not only were we told we could do anything, but we should do everything. The amount of resources and help for us seemed limitless. It was boys who were belittled, dismissed and put on the back burner. That’s why we have a crisis today.

@LisaBritton How were boys belittled with respect to sports? I raised boys and girls in the early 2000s and girls were certainly encouraged but boys were too.

Fast-food trash is incredibly heavy, and this machine saves employees' backs while preventing massive workers' comp lawsuits. ​Are we becoming a weak society, or is this just smart corporate safety?

@edgaralandough Easter baskets are all candy. That’s how mine we’re and that’s how they are for my kids. I never understood Easter presents. At best they get some sidewalk chalk.

The older I get the more I hate overconsumption. Your kid doesn’t need an Easter basket full of plastic junk that is going to end up in a landfill. As much as I hate the “back in my day” trope, it applies here. When I was a kid, all we got for Easter was chocolate. Why do we need to buy so much stuff for each holiday?
