After an extraordinary 34+ year career, we were honoured to come together with partners to celebrate the well-earned retirement of Police Dispatcher Sue J Mitchell! Sue J began her journey with @VancouverPD when dispatch operations were still based out of 312 Main Street. In 1999, she joined E-Comm, where she continued to serve first responders and the public with care, compassion, and leadership. When @deltapolice, @NewWestPD, and @PortMoodyPD came onboard, Sue once again rose to the occasion by training, supporting, and quickly becoming an invaluable presence to every squad she worked with. Sue J steps into retirement alongside her husband, a retired VPD member, and passes the torch to her daughter, Bailey, who is currently a Police Call Taker at E-Comm. Thank you for your outstanding service and dedication, Sue J! You will be greatly missed, and we wish you all the best in this next chapter. #911BC

We’ve seen an uptick in calls regarding dirt bikes in the Heritage Woods area of #portmoody. For example, a 13-year-old rider was recently caught going 60 km/h uphill in a 30 km/h zone. For details on the rules surrounding these bikes, see our release ⬇️ portmoodypolice.ca/thats-not-stre…

@MassMan44 @sjperryCA @gavindew Because the bureaucracy makes it so onerous for small business to meet all requirements, submit all applications, etc. They (govt bureaucrats) are literally paid to make things complicated :(

Without these local radio stations - particularly those in rural towns - how will communities receive urgent updates on ever increasing natural disasters such as extreme weather or wildfires? It’s unreasonable to assume every citizen has access to wifi, never mind a smartphone.
CBC News@CBCNews

BCE Inc. is cutting nine per cent of its workforce or about 4,800 jobs, including journalists and other workers at its Bell Media subsidiary. It is also selling off 45 of its 103 regional radio stations. cbc.ca/news/business/… .

@Gear316 @Ironhors88 @richardzussman @Dave_Eby Surrey needs police, regardless of the patch on their sleeve .. thisis such a hollow argument , except rcmp already has all the management and overhead that sps now has to fund from taxes :(

Premier David Eby on cuts by Bell media. “They have sucked out their life blood like vampires. They were allowed to do this. It’s appalling, companies like this need to be held accountable.” #bcpoli

@richardzussman If these local media outlets are relevant then Bell getting out is an opportunity for some great, motivated group to get in. No more blood sucking ....

Another shot of our Rope Access Technicians (also known as RATs in the industry) at the #AlexFraser on #BCHwy91. Crews are monitoring cables and releasing collars periodically to remove accumulations on cables. Rolling right lane closures all day. Traffic is slow moving NB.
