The “housing shortage” narrative is one of the biggest lies being sold right now.
Why?
Because a LOT of people get paid when you believe there’s a shortage.
Builders.
Lobbyists.
Economists.
Media.
Florida does NOT have a shortage of physical homes.
We have:
• A pricing problem
• A product mismatch
• An affordability crisis
We are PRE-supplied in mid-level luxury.
We are UNDER-supplied in starter homes…
…because starter homes are less profitable to build.
That leaves us stuck in the middle.
And until prices come down significantly, the market stays frozen.
Let’s be clear:
You do NOT have a “shortage” when:
• Prices are dropping
• Rents are dropping
• Supply is rising
• Builders are overbuilding
That is not a shortage.
That is a market repricing.
The “10M shortage” narrative ignores one key question:
Shortage of WHAT?
Luxury homes? No.
Affordable monthly payments?
Yes.
Big difference.

Florida’s unemployment rate is ABOVE the national average and it’s only GROWING. The latest state jobs numbers show we lost over 43k jobs all in critical industries. Florida had one of the worst performing job markets over the past year. Our state needs to stay focused on adding private sector jobs and driving down cost of living — just like President Trump is trying to do across the country.

I was talking to friends who live in Florida.
Here’s their major concern for this upcoming special session.
Redistricting.
There’s been a HUGE influx of people moving to Florida in the last 6 years, so the congressional map is no longer reflecting population demographics.
The Florida special session is coming up. Redistricting is on the docket. Governor DeSantis supports it. This is the time to secure Florida as a deep Red state long term.
Florida lawmakers, make sure this is top priority as this is top of mind for your voters!!!!

I’m not a huge fan of either attorney general candidate but it is important to vote Uthmeier. Rodriguez is a liberal lunatic, as people in Miami might know, and we might end up with a lawless Florida resembling blue states.
