@krassenstein I agree. We have similar issues in UK. I feel society is breaking down and it isn’t all about migration. A lot of individuals are becoming selfish, believing society owes them, and the responsibility is never theirs. Japanese children are raised with respect! Generalising here!

I just returned from two weeks in Japan, and I have to be honest, it really opened my eyes to how far behind the U.S. is falling in so many basic ways. Some things that stood out: - In two weeks across some of Japan’s most densely populated cities, I saw only two visibly homeless people. - I saw one person who appeared to be struggling with addiction. - High-speed rail made affordable, clean, efficient transportation the norm, not a fantasy. - I never once felt unsafe letting my kids walk freely beside me in public. - Despite having far fewer public trash cans, Japan’s streets had a fraction of the litter. - The country’s reduced income inequality was visible everywhere, from housing to public services. I already know what some right-wing folks will say: “It’s because Japan has low immigration” or “It’s not run by Democrats.” But those are lazy excuses and distractions from the real issues. The truth? We’ve normalized dysfunction in the U.S., and we make excuses for it instead of demanding better.

@SkyHelpTeam is there a problem with sky mobile? Can’t make or receive any calls to/from mobile networks. Seem to be able to call a landline from my mobile though. I’m not the only one having issues.

@garypatchett Where are you based? I’m in Bristol area and wondered if it was a local or national issue.

@garypatchett I can make mobile calls to landlines but it won’t connect to other mobile networks and they can’t get through to me either!

Hot take: Europe is a bunch of third-world countries with better branding. No A/C. No dryers. Ice is a luxury. You’ll sweat through dinner while the waiter ignores you for 2 hours. Say what you want about America, but at least eating out doesn’t feel like hot yoga with bread.

@Peston Efficiency in NHS is rock bottom (talk to anyone working in the system or any patients for that matter) - so much wasted money and time! I’d say huge efficiency savings could be made (and not be getting rid of healthcare jobs).

Here is an extraordinary government claim. Of £13.8bn of efficiency savings it is promising each year by 2028/9, health and social care is promising to provide more than £9bn of them. Is that credible? The second biggest promiser of efficiency gains is defence

@harrell_carrie @elonmusk We (UK) have seen many devastating videos, documentaries news articles on how whole cities have been destroyed in Ukraine and how innocent citizens are being targeted. We also have many refugees living here with British families.

@elonmusk Why have we never seen pictures of the war in the Ukraine like we have other wars we don't see the devastation or the destruction so no one understands why and where all this fighting is going on

@ginnymelons I don’t even know what that is!!! I have to admit that my dad had a few weeks stay at Southmead hospital in Bristol last year and the food was quite impressive!
