Wrong. We killed them all in holly wars. Neanderthals were physically stronger than us man for man. Some evidence suggests they were also smarter. They were also cannibals - Neanderthal caves in Spain have remains of humans they cooked and ate. So wha they probably did was raid human families, kill and eat the males and children, and take females for breeding. Where they ultimately failed and we had an advantage is in group size. Apparently they could never organise beyond 150 people, whereas we can organise in the millions of even billions. But our ability to organise took time to develop - thousands of years maybe. Our ability for mass organisation appears to have been done through religion/ mythology. Evidence of this is that the oldest settlements and structure (which predate agriculture itself) seem to be religious (Stone Henge type stuff) under which people from an entire region got together for rituals. There are loads of these in Anatolia being found like Gobekletepe - 15,000 years old! Neanderthals never had this. Which is why we fucking exterminated them. We probably did it in some sort of Holly War where they were evil deamon creatures that kidnapped and ate children (which they did). Good riddance. Imagine if they were still around 💀

Bombay makes no sense. Spent a week and what a paradox. You can spend ₹2,000 on a perfect meal and 2 hours stuck moving 5 km. Strangers will go out of their way to help you… while the system around them barely works. I came from Bandra to Navi Mumbai International Airport in 92 minutes and somehow still left liking the city more. This shouldn’t happen. What is it about Bombay that makes people forgive everything?

@kimjongun3_0 @raghav_chadha Do you know that uncle who keeps giving gyan without giving any solution? Raghav Chadda is that uncle. He keep saying obvious problems without much solution. The parliament is not for useless debate. If he is serious, then he should propose a Bill at least.

Traffic has turned our metro cities into giant parking lots with people trapped inside them. In Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Chennai, on average a commuter spends 100 to 168 hours a year stuck in traffic . Not commuting. Just sitting. Every hour lost is an hour India cannot get back. Productivity lost, fuel wasted, air polluted, quality of life damaged. I stood up in Parliament and demanded a National Urban Decongestion Mission for our big metro cities with better public transport, smarter traffic management and a scientific parking policy. We are not stuck in traffic. We are stuck because of it. And if India wants its economy in the fast lane, our cities need to start moving.

In a shocking incident reported from Sakleshpur in Hassan district, a group of photographers visiting a temple for a pre-wedding photoshoot was allegedly assaulted by local youths. The incident occurred on the premises of the Bettada Byraveshwara Temple, a popular scenic spot known for attracting tourists and photography teams. The episode, which was captured on video, has triggered widespread outrage and raised serious concerns about tourist safety in the region. According to reports, the photographers had arrived at the temple early in the day to conduct a pre-wedding shoot in the picturesque surroundings. During the shoot, a group of local men approached them and questioned their presence. The men reportedly demanded to know why the team was shooting at the location and whether they had obtained permission. The photographers responded that they were tourists and believed that no special permission was required to take photographs at a public temple. This exchange soon escalated into a heated verbal argument. The situation quickly turned violent as the group of youths allegedly attacked the photographers. Despite repeatedly asking why they were being assaulted and pleading for an explanation, the victims were reportedly beaten without provocation. The incident disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere of the temple, leaving other visitors shocked and anxious. Eyewitness videos suggest that the attackers also attempted to damage the photographers’ equipment during the assault. The incident has sparked strong public outrage, with many condemning the alleged behaviour of the local youths. Citizens and netizens alike have criticised the act as goondaism and expressed concern over the safety of tourists visiting popular destinations. Such incidents, observers say, risk tarnishing the image of tourist locations and could negatively impact the local tourism industry. Following the incident, complaints have been filed by both parties at the Sakleshpur Rural Police Station. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the facts and identify those responsible. Authorities are expected to review the video evidence and take appropriate action based on their findings. The incident has once again highlighted growing concerns over clashes between locals and tourists at popular destinations. Experts stress the need for better awareness, clear guidelines on permissions, and stricter enforcement of law and order to ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future.

Absolutely unacceptable. In Shahpur (Gorakhpur), a woman assaulted a receptionist at a dry cleaning shop over a ₹50 discount. When the staff member refused to reduce the fixed charge (₹750), the woman created a scene, abused her, and then slapped her, all caught clearly on CCTV. Think about it… for just ₹50, someone felt entitled enough to physically assault a working woman doing her job. This is not “anger”, this is pure lawlessness and entitlement. The victim immediately informed the shop owner and police. FIR has reportedly been registered and identification is underway using CCTV footage. Now the question is, will strict action follow? Assaulting someone at their workplace is a serious offense. If this goes unpunished, it sends a message that customers can abuse and hit staff without consequences. @Uppolice, ensure immediate arrest. No warnings, no leniency. Set an example. Every working professional deserves safety and dignity.

@VendettaInvest @bhaumikgowande If you have cycle lanes, there will be no conflict with motorised vehicles. If you look at the Dutch cities, many cycle lanes are in a completely different zone. Then you need to disincentivize car ownership with heavy taxes and other kind of harsh pyshological penalties.

The moment you mention “cycling,” men start throwing tantrums, assuming transport planners want them to cycle to work. Cycling isn’t about forcing people to ride to work. It a mobility choice designed for short, everyday trips, to bus stops, metro stations, local markets, cafés, and safe access to schools. But also, accessing work on a cycle is a mobility choice that can be made by some and cities need to provide the choice 🚲 In a tropical country cycling 1km to metro stations is far better than walking 1km to metro station from home. A space constraint city like Mumbai should have cycle track to transport more people on last mile than have them cram in a share rickshaw illegally.
Amey Kulkarni 🇮🇳@AmeyKulkarni_21

Mumbai (including MMR) would actually be the best city in India for cycling. Why? See the map below. You don't need to cycle 20-30 km to the office. You have to cycle just 1 km to the nearest metro station! Under the Mumbai within 59 minutes plan, a PT station (contd)
