@Nav5_Oh

Got to Ft. Sill, OK on my 19th birthday. Spent a lot of years in one uniform or another. Now it's shorts and flip flops. Mountain (not social) climber. Dog guy.

Hey. Legal Eagle. As far as I can tell you're nothing but a social media troll who hides behind an anonymous X handle & lacks the intestinal fortitude to quote tweet so I don't get notified that you're over there talking shit. These 4 pics cover 22 total years of service that spanned 3 different MOSs as an enlisted soldier & 2 CMFs as a commissioned officer & included a security force deployment to 🇭🇹 (1997) & combat deployments to 🇮🇶 (2003-04) + 🇦🇫 (2013-14). The 15 years I spent on the line contributed to my experience, perspective & knowledge as an Army judge advocate during the final 7 years before retirement. I also have no idea if you ever even served - or if you did whether you were a JAG. I'm assuming from your comment while subtweeting me that you did both...though that is of course merely an assumption since you run an anonymous account. If so to both, though, you are absolutely the worst kind of military lawyer. It's shitbags like you who give the rest of the legal services a bad name. See, that 15 years on the line made me that much better of a military lawyer when I switched over because I had spent so long doing the work of my organizational clients before then becoming their legal advisor. I saw the world the way they did because I had walked for so long in their boots. Besides, you don't know me. You have no clue what led me to retire when I did in 2018 after "only" 7 years as an Army judge advocate. But that is the last occupation I held before separating, so that makes me a retired military lawyer. If you think that's "doing a lot of work," you can eat shit. That's exactly what I am...a retired military lawyer who ALSO just happens to have 15 years of experience on the line before switching to 27A. As you can tell, I've also been busy accumulating academic qualifications & experiences since I retired almost exactly 8 years ago now. 15 years as a combat soldier contributed to my experience as a military lawyer, just as 22 years of total military experience contributes to my experience as a law prof today. Now, I have a feeling this exchange isn't going to go all that well for you, at least not here @X. If that's accurate, just think of this as an opportunity for personal & even professional growth. And if you're ever interested carrying on this most enlightening exchange, I'm all for it. Show your face like I have mine, and maybe your opinion will carry a little more weight. Oh. And if you have something to say in future, I encourage you to muster even a modicum of courage to tag, reply, or QT me directly. If you don't want the people who DO know your identity thinking you're a sniveling, pathetic little coward, that would certainly be the most favorable course of action.

“Retired military lawyer” is doing a lot of work for a guy that did 7 years as a JAG and probably got out as a CPT

What the hell is up with all of these TATTOOS everywhere? “Back in the Day” only Sailors got them when they were DRUNK in the Philippines. Then it became a “Thing” with STRIPPERS in the 90s. Now I see Dentists, Teachers, Nurses, Interns all TATTED UP. My Theory: It’s an Easy, quick way to feel Distinctive and Special, WITHOUT actually doing the WORK to be Distinctive and Special. Too much “Ink” and Selfies, Not enough GRIT. #tatsaresilly

@braxton_mccoy Can I offer some perspective from my generation? You were in Anbar because my trip to Iraq in '91 was truncated. We should have kept going

This was not an uncommon experience in Anbar. I went in a true believer but after about 3 months it was clear no one had any clue what the grand strategy was. Shouldn't be a surprise that guys who went through this transformative period don't want zoomers to deal with the same.

According to CNN, Iran has reinforced Kharg Island with troops, air defenses, and mines, preparing for a potential US ground operation. US officials warn of high risks, including heavy casualties, due to layered defenses and recent deployments of Iranian MANPADs and anti-armor mines. If that’s the case, how about dropping a few loads of napalm and turning the entire island to glass. Then let the Marines do their thing on the dust and rubble?

Everyone assumes this picture of Buttigieg is him eating a chicken wing, and that's because he's biting in a way to engage his "rip-the-flesh-from-the-bone" front teeth, so we fill in "chicken wing" to make it make sense. But what he is actually eating is a small piece of a cinnamon roll, and our brains just can't comprehend biting into a small piece of dough that way. It's like an alien took over a human body and is unfamiliar with the subtleties of how it works.

Shotguns are inferior to ARs for Home Defense. Hunting shotguns are inferior to tactical shotguns for home defense, and pump shotguns are inferior to semi auto shotguns for home defense. Nobody gives a shit about the pump sound. Why isn’t your home defense gun loaded?

I don't want boots on the ground, but in terms of comedy it would be top tier to move Marines with amphibious capabilities into the area just to make them watch Rangers parachute onto an island or two.

THIS IS TERRIFYING… CAUGHT ON CAMERA A woman was simply walking her dog… Out of nowhere, a bobcat attacked - and followed her ALL the way to her front door. No warning. No escape. Just pure chaos in seconds. This can happen in your own neighborhood depending on where you live. 🐾 If this was you… what would you do? Are you even prepared for something like this? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

I went to a couple of these type of group meetings early on. TBH the prelude to the meeting was talk of drug and alcohol abuse shit talk. Once the meeting started the stories went something like this “when I was driving the wrecker on the FOB and a mortar attack happened I got scared.” I didn’t encounter one combat arms Veteran in a group of around 20-30.

Last night I went to a veteran/ptsd support group. A friend has been pushing me for a bit, I finally swallowed my pride and showed up. Wild how many of us are carrying this baggage and still moving like everything’s fine…me included, acting a fool on here. Anyways…boobs.
