@FatherChrisVor1 And you claim to suggest we devalue Christ and his role, but that’s literally what the Trinity does. Rather than Jesus being our perfect savior, our mediator to God the Father, the literal trinity idea devalues him into a facsimile of a single being that somehow is his own son.

@FatherChrisVor1 “This is why Christians have always cared so deeply about doctrine” and yet your most famous “doctrine” was introduced by man hundreds of years later and isn’t supported directly by the Bible itself. That’s not how doctrine works.

A Mormon recently argued that comparing Joseph Smith to Muhammad makes little sense because Muhammad denied Christ’s divinity, crucifixion, and resurrection, while Mormonism affirms those things. At first glance, that sounds compelling. After all, if Mormons affirm Jesus and Muslims deny central Christian claims about Him, doesn’t that place Mormonism much closer to historic Christianity? Not necessarily. The reason is simple. Christianity has never judged orthodoxy merely by whether someone uses Christian words or affirms certain events. The question is not only whether someone believes a man named Jesus was crucified. The question is: Who was the One who was crucified? Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ is the eternal, uncreated Son of God, the second Person of the Holy Trinity, consubstantial with the Father, through whom all things were made. Mormonism does not teach that. By the time Mormon theology arrives at the crucifixion, it has already redefined the identity of Christ. This is why Christians have always cared so deeply about doctrine. A person can affirm the crucifixion and still deny the Christian understanding of the One who was crucified. The early Church fought battles over precisely these questions. Arians spoke of Jesus. Nestorians spoke of Jesus. Countless heretical groups spoke of Jesus. The issue was never the name. The issue was the identity of the Person. So while Islam and Mormonism are certainly not the same religion, the comparison often misses the real point. The Christian objection is not simply that Joseph Smith taught different things from Christianity. The objection is that Joseph Smith redefined the central figure of Christianity itself. A religion does not become Christian merely because it speaks positively about Jesus, His crucifixion, His resurrection, or His grace. The question remains the same one the Church has asked for two thousand years: Who is Jesus Christ? And that is where the real discussion begins.
The Primary Pianist@Primary_Pianist

The Joseph Smith = Muhammad comparison usually reveals more about the person making it than about either man. Muhammad’s revelations deny core Christian claims about Christ’s divinity, crucifixion, and resurrection. The Book of Mormon spends hundreds of pages affirming Christ’s divinity, His atoning sacrifice, His resurrection, and our dependence on His grace. If Joseph Smith was copying Muhammad, he did a remarkably poor job of it.

@Matthew56193629 @FriedScones @Primary_Pianist Your own disingenuous question was answered by your own pathetic reply. The Judgment hasn’t happened yet, as you point out. Why would you presume to mock someone based on the ignorant view that they would receive their reward before the judgement?

Why is it taking more than three days for Joseph Smith to walk out of his grave? I thought he was becoming a god, like Jesus fully became a God 2000 years ago? 🤔 Nobody to roll the stone away? Is that a problem for a newly minted God?

@vespa_the_goat @w1lliep @caroljv33 Jesus showed up teaching ideas that were contrary to the accepted ideas that the church had been corrupted into practicing. They denied him, called him a false prophet without even trying to listen to his words, and rejoiced in his death. Look in the mirror buddy.

About the absurd idea the Latter-Day Saints/Mormons are Christian: Army wife here. 21 moves in 32 years of my husband’s career. I am also former Roman Catholic until I married my husband 46 years ago. I will just name some of the churches in the U.S. and Europe that we attended and/or visited extensively: Catholic, Nazarene, Baptist, Pentecostal, Evangelical, Nondenominational, Army Chapel (which means essentially Protestant as the Catholics have their on on bases) etc. Not one ever had a Book of Mormon. Not one taught about Smith. They all taught about the Jesus Christ of the Bible and they all had a Bible, every single one, in every pew. In addition—in every single Christian bookstore all over the earth that I often frequented, not one single Book of Mormon is sold or any other LDS materials. Not one anywhere in America or Europe. LDS have to have their own Deseret bookstore because their church is not Christian. Their materials are not Christian. Catholics and Protestants are exceedingly different but we agree there is only One True God. LDS believe in countless gods and that they can become gods someday. Christians: monotheistic Mormons polytheistic Impossible to be a Christian faith. #LDS #JOSEPHSMITH #Mormon #Mormonism

@JInfo877 @end3of6days9 Right, she forgot her card and should have had to just drive it into a ditch and abandon it because there’s no way to fix it right? Can’t possibly go get her card and rectify the situation.

This woman is crashing out about her car getting double booted in her apartment complex — again. She says this is the second time it’s happened. This time, she forgot her parking garage key card, so she parked next to the curb instead. She says she ran inside for literally 60 seconds to grab it, and by the time she came back out, they were already booting her car. She pays to live there and feels like the booting company is constantly targeting residents. On the other hand, she’s not supposed to park outside the garage, and this isn’t the first time this has happened to her. So… is she wrong or right in this situation?

(1) The Papacy is most certainly Scriptural. * Three Popes are mentioned in the Bible (Saint Peter in Matthew 16:16, Saint Linus in 2 Timothy 4:21, and Saint Clement in Philippians 4:3). **There is only one Pope as there was only one Israeli High Priest. Compare Psalm 110:4 with Hebrews 5:6. ***Saint Peter is mentioned in more instances in the Apostles than all of the other Apostles combined. Matthew 16:18 (Rock of the Church) Matthew 10:2 (Peter first among Apostles) Matthew 18:21 (Peter speaks for Apostles) Matthew 23:3 (Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice.) Luke 5:1-10 (Peter’s boat chosen) Luke 22:32 (To Peter “Strengthen your brethren”) John 21:17 (To Peter “Feed my Sheep” Acts 2:14 (Peter leads Apostles) Acts 3:6-7 (Peter performs first Pentecostal Miracle) Acts 15:7 (Council of Jerusalem) Galatians 1:18-20 (Paul travels TO Peter the Pope) Matthew 16 And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven.  18 And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. Matthew 10 2 The names of the twelve apostles[c] are these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John; 3 Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; 4 Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him John 1 “42 Then he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John;[a] you will be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter).” Matthew 4 “18 As he was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen.” Luke 6 “14 Simon, whom he named Peter,[f] and his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew . . . “ Galatians 1  Then, after three years, I went to Jerusalem, to see Peter, and I tarried with him fifteen days. John 21 15 When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,[i] “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?”[j] He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” 16 He then said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” 17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” [Jesus] said to him, “Feed my sheep.” (2) Infant Baptism Joshua 24:15 “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Matthew 19:14 “Let the children come to me.” Matthew 18:14 “In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost.” John 3:5 “Jesus answered, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.” Luke 18:17 “Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.” Acts 16:15 “After she and her household had been baptized, she offered us an invitation, “If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my home,” and she prevailed on us.” Acts 18:8 “Crispus, the synagogue official, came to believe in the Lord along with his entire household, and many of the Corinthians who heard believed and were baptized.” #CatholicX

@w1lliep @caroljv33 @NaysayersMedia Those verses describe ways in which God has interacted with man. They don't suggest that God is *actually* a man. In contrast, there are several verses explicitly saying God is not a man.

@caroljv33 @NaysayersMedia they have started trying to appear to be Christian over the last 20 years First, they don’t believe they’re one of us they teach they are the only true church so why do they do this? Second they say the Bible is not translated correctly yet now they say they believe it. Why?

@caroljv33 We do have them in our libraries in our churches for all to use, we just don’t fill the pews with them because most have their own with them. The pews have hymn books instead to sing praises to god. As a bit that progress to have met many Mormons, you have no clue

The fact that you do not have any Bibles in any of your churches is damning indeed. “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and God was the Word.” John 1.1 V. 14 “And the Word became flesh and walked among us.” The Greek word here is Theos—Supreme Divinity. So The Latter Day Saints, the Mormon Church that militantly demands we call it Christian, will not put a copy of the Bible, God Himself, the Great I Am, that became the Word in the flesh and walked among us—Jesus Christ —in their Churches. Imagine that? They won’t because they believe as Smith told them, the nutty idea that Smith could improve ON GOD. Smith said God needed an edit, fixing, restoring —as books and chapters etc. were missing—and that this would happen in the Book of Mormon. YET—NONE of these missing parts made it to the Book of Mormon. 🤔YET—Mormons believe this book is “holier” than the Word, the Bible. Make it make sense!!?!

Sadly you are a liar. I have not only traveled the world and met countless Mormons, but allow countless into my home. I encourage them to come so I can witness to them. You carry it for show. You do not read it. You know little to nothing about the contents of the Bible and are constantly brainwashed into reading the Book of Mormon. It’s why I can always trip up any Mormon with regard to scripture. Any true Christian can.
