@TomBuck Please explain Tom - I understand that is what we should strive for, but it seems you are saying we can reach sinless perfection this side of heaven. Really??

Faith and obedience cannot be separated. If I really have faith that God will do all that He promises to do, I will do all that He commands me to do - exactly and completely.

@KatharinaLeAnn Chalmers called that The Expulsive Power Of A New Affection, and made the point that the removing the love of a sin from the heart leaves a vacuum that will be filled by something else. Thus, the only way to deal with sin is to replace it w/ a superior affection - Love of God.🙂

You don’t defeat sin
by fixating on it all day. I tried that. What you focus on grows. Fix your eyes on Christ instead.

@BrainyPirate You missed her point completely- As a former lesbian, her testimony is that God DID "exgay" her and give her new desires. My guess is that the people you talked about praying for years never really desired God to change them. Maybe they gave lip service, but He knew their heart.

@cothran_tom Very much not how it works Gay Christians may pray for years and God doesn’t exgay them They may go through therapy for years and God doesn’t exgay them God is not exgaying anyone.

@repentantKerry Yep - I just had an adverse reaction to the word "abandon". I just never even consider that could happen. I like the positivity of "keep" so much more than the negativity of "abandon".

“We aren’t talking about guys like your husband.” Then who are you talking about, and how exactly do you plan to tell the difference? Because what that actually means is this: people like my husband are forced to prove, in detail, what they survived. Over and over again. How many times does someone have to relive their trauma to be believed? And who are you to so casually suggest it?

Imagine this: On your first combat tour, you’re outside the wire more than any unit since Vietnam. Blasts knock you off your feet. Bullets rip past your head. You’re taking fire while trying to sleep. On your second deployment, you watch three friends die in a firefight. You remember touching each of them, saying goodbye. The survivor’s guilt never leaves. On your third, it all happens again. And you witness a fellow Marine’s suicide. You’re exposed to burn pits and things no one fully understands yet. Then you’re stuck in a wounded battalion for years… surrounded by triggers, by grief… but they won’t let you go because they don’t want you to become another statistic. You come home, but you don’t really come home. You can’t open the blinds. You can’t leave the house. Panic attacks. Nightmares. Sudden rage. Exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix. People love you, but they also wish you’d just “get over it.” You fight for help from the VA. You wait. You appeal. You drown financially while proving, over and over, that you’re not okay. Twenty years later… you’re still fighting the same war in your own mind. And then you open 𝕏 and see people say veterans on disability are frauds. That they’re “bleeding the system dry.” That they should all be audited and prove again what they have already proven. This is my husband’s reality. Respectfully, you have no idea what you’re talking about. Maybe speak less confidently about things you’ve never lived.

@ManassehRJones No- He's misrepresenting. Every Calvinist says virtually the opposite of this - That the attitude of "live however you want" means you've not been reborn. He is misrepresenting our belief that works/obedience/etc. DON'T EARN salvation, but are INEVITABLE FRUIT of true salvation.

Do you "Hyper-Calvinists" agree with this man's description of you believing "you can live however you want?" As a Theistic Determinist, NOT a Calvinist, I find this opinion just utter ignorance. What a ridiculous thing to say. The sons of God are the ONLY ones walking the earth guarding God's commandments written in our heart through Christs faith and obedience, by the works of the Spirit.

@ThomasSowell I am proud to be white because that's what God chose for me. If you are Latino, or Asian, or Black ... YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF THAT because that is what God chose for you. Understand now? - Let @LibOrNormal know.
