6 years & 6 months later, a big chapter of my life concluded last month. We started @spennyapp in 2019. @CRED_club acquired Spenny in late 2023. And last month, with Spenny now in the able hands of CRED, my journey there came to an end. 🧵 I dropped out of @INSEAD MBA in 2019 (reckless, I know!) to start Spenny with a simple vision: help people invest their money. Along the way, we got into @ycombinator (easily one of the most exciting emails I’ve ever opened). With CRED, the vision took on a larger purpose: to help people make better financial decisions across the board.

Supporting women in science and engineering shouldn’t be a one-day moment. It should be built into how organisations operate every day. At Pixxel, nearly 48% of our leadership roles are held by women, across engineering, research, mission operations, and more. The Shakuntala Initiative extends that philosophy beyond our own teams. Earlier this week, we began with Shakuntala Grants, and The Shakuntala initiative will continue to grow through conversations, shared knowledge, and community efforts for women across STEM. Really proud of this one. When we started Escape Velocity Grants, the idea was to find people who genuinely care about nature research and give them a push. Partnering with @PixxelSpace to back women researchers working on environment and conservation science feels like exactly the right next step. While we want to explore the universe, we want to take care of our home planet too <3 Thanks @awaisahmedna for your trust and @Neerjargon for making this happen.

Curiosity drives science forward. Expanding who gets to pursue it makes it stronger. This International Women’s Day, we’re launching Shakuntala Grants, a programme supporting women researchers studying the planet and opening pathways for the next generation to discover science. In partnership with Escape Velocity Grants (by @sia_steel and @paraschopra), we will fund climate and environmental projects through micro-grants for women researchers. With Saare Taare Zameen Par, we’re bringing hands-on STEM learning to girls in middle school through their Spark of Curiosity programme. It was an honour to host Dr. V. Narayanan, Secretary, Department of Space and Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (@isro), at our Bengaluru facility! In conversation with our founders @awaisahmedna and @kshitijgokul, he engaged with our teams across engineering and manufacturing, and reviewed the satellites and systems shaping our next phase of growth. His visit underscored the ambition of India’s evolving space ecosystem and the role we are building within it, advancing sovereign capability while creating space infrastructure designed to serve the world. 🌍

India’s first privately led national Earth Observation constellation is officially underway! 🚀 The consortium led by @PixxelSpace has signed an agreement with @INSPACeIND to design, build, own, and operate India’s national EO satellite system under a Public–Private Partnership framework, alongside @DhruvaSpace, @piersightspace, and @sat_sure. One of the largest public–private partnerships in Indian space to date, this effort will bring together 12 satellites spanning very high-resolution, multispectral, SAR, and hyperspectral imaging, strengthening data sovereignty and delivering planetary intelligence at a national scale.
