@ErdemPulcu @jonroiser shift to consumption taxes is going to increase wealth inequality and ultimately punish everyone except the richest. If you want to shift to wealth tax from income tax, that might actually help against wealth inequality, but consumption taxes can be a means to change behaviour

@jonroiser I think this crudely corresponds to 12% less income tax for someone who earns £126k. I think taxation should move to lifestyle choices eg luxury goods, alcohol and tobacco, sugar and salt, mileage and vehicle weight/size based road tax etc rather than income.

My new use of Chatgpt for grant writing: If chatgpt can predict the next few sentences, they are boring - someone has already written them. Write different ones.

There was a lot more in the paper, including contrasting motivational collapse trials with general motivational state, but I hope this little teaser made you interested enough in the paper to check it out!

We then correlated motivational factor with brain activity across tasks, showing general collapse of activity in pgACC with motiv. collapse. Stimulation of same region improves motivation by reducing disengagement showing that this region causally contributes to task engagement!
