anytime i finish a blog post, i feed it to an LLM asking it to produce 20-40 HN or Reddit comments. immensely effective. stole that idea from @mitsuhiko

It's funny, I had that keyboard as a kid in the 90s and didn't find out until about five years ago that the demo song was a Rick Astley cover the whole time.

Dreamt I met the Tony’s chocolonely guy and he was claiming that every segment on the bar was designed with extreme intention and I was trying to box him into a corner by asking about a piece that was most clearly a random chunk but then I woke up

Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way here to ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶c̶a̶s̶t̶l̶e̶ ̶b̶e̶y̶o̶n̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶G̶o̶b̶l̶i̶n̶ ̶C̶i̶t̶y̶ getting full track info *without* using the Spotify API.
Works with other players too as I'm just using the info that they send the OS already.

I was hoping to use the Spotify API in Driving At Night to let the player see some info about what's playing and control it if they have Spotify running locally. But turns out wit the API "You may not synchronize with visual media". And "Do not create a game"! And 5 users max‽

@nonManifold I thought I was the only person on Earth that liked the old UI 😅. I'm actually pretty expert at the old OnGUI immediate mode but it feels a bit ancient in 2026.

@krishnanrohit Just to add: I think @hunternif_art has done an incredible job of capturing the right feel of HPMOR and its characters in the comic, including "visualizing the methods of rationality" where necessary. Unfortunately it's not yet very far through.

@koto2992 @theodorebeers @usa_retro I believe what @theodorebeers means if that if he saw what a big deal a 43" CRT was, he might start to realise he probably doesn't really have a 61" CRT. It's a response to the rhetorical "should we tell him?".
