🚨NOT TRUE AT ALL! 15 years ago we were still in a recession. Most jobs came through recruiters or staffing agencies. I had friends who were lucky to be selling Verizon internet door to door. It was absolutely crazy difficult to get a good job, the news would show hiring events for Lows and it had thousands applying. It was that bad! A cafe opened up and it made the news they were hitting 5 servers.... HUNDREDS showed up and applied. Nobody was hiring! People lost their homes, and the only thing saving anyone under 40 was going to work the oil boom in north Dakota. I had just got my undergrad and couldn't get a job to save my life. Only going into grad school eas a safe haven besides working oil. It fking sucked!

Nobody talks about how genuinely different life was 15 years ago. $650 rent. $4 happy hour. A full grocery run under $90. Job offers within a week of applying. Nights out that weren't being filmed and uploaded before you got home. That world existed. it wasn't that long ago. And it is completely gone.
