Netanyahu Directs the Israeli Military to Seize 70% of Gaza Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the military to expand its control over Gaza to 70% of the territory, a move that would leave more than two million Palestinians confined to an increasingly small portion of the Strip. Israel describes the expansion as a security measure, but critics say it amounts to a major land grab that further entrenches displacement and undermines prospects for a lasting peace. The announcement has drawn renewed concern from humanitarian organisations, which warn that shrinking civilian space in Gaza could worsen already dire living conditions. As military control expands, questions continue to grow over Gaza's future, the rights of its population, and whether temporary security zones are becoming a permanent reality.

The Gush Etzion Regional Council in the occupied West Bank has publicly acknowledged severe sexual abuse allegations within the settler community following an investigative report aired on Israel’s Kan 11 channel. The investigation featured testimonies from multiple alleged victims describing organised abuse over several years. After the broadcast, the council condemned the acts described, called them “pure evil,” and urged additional victims to come forward through support hotlines. The revelations are expected to intensify pressure on Israeli authorities to reopen complaints and expand criminal investigations into the case.

The United Nations has added Israel to its blacklist of parties accused of conflict-related sexual violence, a move confirmed by Israel’s ambassador to the UN on Thursday. The move places Israel alongside groups and states previously listed in the UN’s annual report on conflict-related sexual violence. Israeli officials condemned the decision as politically motivated, while the UN cited allegations involving Palestinian detainees and called for investigations into reported abuses.

A horrific massacre unfolded in Gaza after an Israeli strike targeted a residential building on Omar Al-Mukhtar Street, killing 10 Palestinians, including five children. The attack reduced parts of the building to rubble, with rescue crews and civilians desperately searching through the debris for survivors as the civilian death toll continues to rise across the besieged territory. Despite more than 2,300 reported Israeli airstrikes, artillery attacks, and open-fire incidents across Gaza in the 228 days since Israel agreed to a ceasefire, the killing has not stopped.

Fadi Almeghari, a 25-year-old Palestinian photographer who described himself as someone who "captures beauty amidst chaos," was killed on Wednesday in a targeted Israeli strike on his car in Gaza. He was unarmed and had no reported combatant affiliation. Almeghari had built a following of 93,000 on Instagram through his photography, which focused on civilian life and children inside the Strip amid the ongoing conflict.

Bodies of Children Found With Hands Bound in Gaza Mass Graves Palestinian civil defence teams unearthing mass graves at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis have made a discovery that has horrified international observers: among the hundreds of decomposed bodies recovered, rescuers found the remains of children and infants with their hands bound by zip ties. More than 390 bodies were pulled from three separate grave sites within the hospital compound following the withdrawal of Israeli forces in April 2024, with Civil Defence officials reporting gunshot wounds to the head, patients still buried in hospital gowns with IV cannulas in their skin, and signs consistent with field executions. The head of Civil Defence evidence, Dr Muhammad Al-Mughair, confirmed that 78 of the recovered bodies were children. The Geneva-based Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has documented over 130 mass grave sites across Gaza since October 2023, spanning hospital courtyards, schools, mosques, and residential neighbourhoods. The UN Human Rights Chief Volker Turk described the findings as "horrifying," calling for independent international investigators to be granted immediate and unimpeded access to all sites. The UN Security Council followed with a formal statement demanding comprehensive, transparent investigations into the circumstances the Council described as potential violations of international law. To date, no independent forensic investigation has been permitted to enter Gaza.

Israel Has Killed Nine Lebanese Paramedics in 72 Hours as Systematic Targeting of Medical Infrastructure Continues Nine Lebanese paramedics have been killed in southern Lebanon over the past 72 hours in a pattern of strikes that aid organisations and Lebanese authorities say constitutes a deliberate campaign against the country's emergency response sector. Among the incidents, Israeli forces employed what rescue workers have described as a "triple-tap" method, striking an initial target, then hitting the paramedics who responded to treat casualties, then striking again as additional rescue teams arrived. Lebanon's Health Ministry has condemned the attacks as clear violations of international humanitarian law, which affords protected status to medical personnel and ambulances regardless of their affiliation. The toll on Lebanon's healthcare sector since March 2 now reflects what many international observers are calling a systematic dismantling rather than collateral damage. According to Lebanon's latest health ministry figures, 125 healthcare workers have been killed and 273 wounded, with 149 recorded attacks on the healthcare sector, 142 ambulances targeted, 221 ambulance crews attacked, 32 medical centres destroyed, and 16 hospitals forced out of service. Lebanese journalists and rescue workers on the ground describe the targeting of emergency infrastructure in the south as a strategy to make humanitarian response impossible and accelerate the displacement of civilian populations from entire areas. Doctors Without Borders has called the pattern "alarming," while Amnesty International says it mirrors a documented Israeli playbook from 2024, one which investigations found bore no evidence of legitimate military justification.

Janaza Prayer for the Three San Diego Martyrs More than 2,000 mourners gathered at SDSU Mission Valley River Park on Thursday to perform Salat al-Janaza for the three men killed in Monday's terrorist attack on the Islamic Centre of San Diego. Amin Abdullah, Nadir Awad, and Mansour Kaziha, widely hailed as martyrs by the community, were laid to rest beneath a white canopy as rows of grief-stricken attendees, including uniformed police officers, raised their hands in prayer. Mourners travelled from across the United States to pay their respects, with Imam Taha Hassane offering words of resolve to the thousands assembled: "Our community got hurt, but our community is standing strong and firm." The three men were subsequently buried together at La Vista Memorial Park in National City. May Allah grant them the highest stations in Jannah. Ameen.

Hawaa Abdullah stood before cameras yesterday with around a dozen family members beside her, many in tears, to remember her father, Amin Abdullah, the security guard killed shielding 140 children at the Islamic Centre of San Diego. Her father was one of three men who died protecting worshippers from two teenage gunmen. She recited verses from the Quran. Then she spoke. "He was the absolute best dad in the world. He was my protector." "My father was the number one advocate for safety and keeping our community safe. He stood against any form of hate." She described a man so devoted to his post that he sometimes skipped meals, afraid something would happen if he stepped away. The week before the attack, Hawaa received her teaching credential. Her father missed the celebration because he was working. He saw the photos after. Just two weeks before he was killed, Amin posted to Facebook: "May Allahu ta'ala grant us Husnal Khatimah, a righteous ending to life." He got exactly that. May Allah have mercy on Amin Abdullah, Nader Awad, and Mansour Kaziha. May Allah grant their families sabr and healing. Ameen.

Mosque Attack in San Diego Leaves Three Dead as Children Flee for Safety Three Muslim men were killed after two gunmen opened fire outside the Islamic Centre of San Diego on Monday morning, in what police are investigating as a possible anti-Muslim hate crime. The attackers, aged 17 and 19, were later found dead several blocks away from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Inside the mosque complex was a school filled with children, who were evacuated safely as chaos unfolded. Among those killed was Amin Abdullah, a security guard described by community members as a hero after reportedly stopping the attackers from entering further into the mosque, potentially saving dozens of lives. The attack has reignited debate over Islamophobia and the language used by authorities and political leaders following violence targeting Muslims. US President Donald Trump called the incident “terrible” but did not publicly refer to Muslims, Islamophobia, or terrorism. Police described the shooting as an “active shooter incident” and referred to the victims as “deceased,” drawing criticism online from those who argued the language downplayed the severity of the attack. Far-right troll Laura Loomer also faced backlash after posting inflammatory remarks about Muslims following the shooting. Muslim advocates say the tragedy reflects a wider climate of anti-Muslim hostility that has become increasingly normalised across Western societies.

The Muslim Security Guard Who Was Killed Protecting Others Amin Abdullah arrived at the Islamic Centre of San Diego on Monday morning, as he did every other day, taking his post at the entrance to the largest mosque in San Diego County. By midday, he was murdered. Authorities say the security guard was killed after two armed teenagers opened fire outside the complex, and that his actions in the moments before his death almost certainly prevented a far greater loss of life. San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl confirmed at a press conference Monday that Abdullah played a "pivotal role" in limiting the casualties during the attack. While investigators have not released a detailed account of exactly what occurred in those opening moments, the implication was clear. The gunmen did not reach the school inside, and the children were not harmed. Abdullah was found among the three men killed outside the mosque. A man who knew Abdullah and spoke to local media in the hours after the attack described him as someone who treated every person who came through those doors with warmth and professionalism. "He was a very nice person, having a smile with everybody," he said. "Every time you come to the centre, he greeted you and welcomed you." He described Abdullah as "very energetic, very strong, very professional," a consistent and dedicated presence at the centre who was known to support staff, worshippers and children alike.

Three Men Killed in Terrorist Attack on San Diego Mosque Two teenage gunmen opened fire outside the Islamic Centre of San Diego on Monday morning, killing three men in what police are investigating as a hate crime. The victims, found outside the mosque complex, included a security guard who authorities say played a pivotal role in preventing further casualties. The two suspects, aged 17 and 19, were found dead blocks away from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds. A suicide note containing writings about racial pride was found, and hate speech was scrawled on one of the weapons. All children at the school inside the complex were evacuated safely.
