I think there is a huge opportunity for a company to start grading with 100% transparency; you know in full detail why you got the grade you got, documented in detail on a website. They could make a killing. I'm looking at you, @Collector_Crypt
Peak Hobby@PeakHobby

PSA now has an 8-month backlog (17 million submissions) based on a grading output of 2.1 million per month, not including any ongoing higher-tier submissions If a grading company can just step in & fill this gap, they could make a huge dent in the grading market @TAGgrading @CGCCards

@Kain43089298 Do you want to pay $100 to grade a card? Do you realize how much it would cost to ship cards to Japan? Not to mention the time delays in shipping cards around the world. Did you even think just a little bit before asking that question? I dont think so

@natsturner @NEOCards_Comics Still is crazy that you all haven't been able to hire and train people to avoid this. Why arent tcg cards being sent to Japan, where the facility is that works mainly with tcg cards?

@Kramaramb On eBay you get pictures of the actual card. On TCGP you have listings with no photos so you just have to trust the seller and grading is very subjective

What's with the discrepancy between tcgplayer and ebay??? It is pure chaos. Mega Greninja sells for comfortably higher than $400 on ebay Yet it's kissing $300 on tcgplayer. Make it make sense?

Told my kids I’d pay them 5 cents for every branch they gathered They’ve gathered over 2,500 branches in about an hour ($250) Now I’m struggling to decide which lesson to teach them: A) A deal is a deal Or B) Life isn’t fair What do you think?

@sparklgg When it comes to TCG I only collect Pokemon. I'm probably a rare case though as I collect almost exclusively Charizards, but in every language. I have 16 different languages of zards so its Impossible to find an app to accurately track them all.

Idk who needs to hear this but Collectr app is notoriously inaccurate and should not be used to price out your inventory. Realistic market on Surging Booster Boxes is closer to $280 but Collectr has it for $256. That's 10% under market.

@KevinfromKY17 Assuming he didnt really want to let it go for that low, but if it was for your PC he was willing to make the deal for you knowing youd appreciate it. If you were just going to turn around and sell it for more then he could just do that himself and eliminate you as the middleman

eBay interactions always crack me up. Found a Thrill card I wanted, but the seller had it priced quite a bit higher than the market (trust me...I know the Clark market). He was offering best offer, so I made my offer and even left him a little extra above what it was worth. He messaged me back and was concerned what I was going to do with the card once he sold it to me. He asked if he was going to see it immediately for sale in my eBay store (I don't even have an eBay store and have only ever sold one card on eBay). So I started sending him pictures of every Thrill card I had on my phone as part of my PC. After 30 pictures he said ok....ok...I get it. 😂 Why would anybody care what someone does with a card after they buy it?

@MaxLonged @0xLevi The new ones I got recently are like plastic rubber and they dont just snap open super easy any more. They bend a lot and I had to use side cutters to snip around the perimeter to get the card out In the past Ive had slabs you can crack open by twisting them by hand. Not anymore

The PSA Slab Cracking Hack Here’s exactly how I do it: 1. Grab a bottle opener 2. Gently pry into all corners until you feel the pop or crack 3. Slowly lift & separate 4. Slide the card out carefully or pop the case off Have a different method? Drop it below 👇

@FlyRyde Storage is almost never worth it long term unless you are storing irreplaceable personal items. People will pay $150 a month to store a couch and tables, spending 3x more over time than just buying all new furniture after they move.

If you’re young, don’t ever get storage. I spent $15,000 over 6 years to keep a ton of stuff from when I closed my shop in 2020. Found a dude on FB with a similar business and just gave him as much as he could take. All you need is experience. That’s free to keep forever 🚀

@Robbie_Reasons While this does sound ridiculous, a 'food influencer' with millions of followers could definitely increase your revenue by more than $2000. Probably just some dork with no influence if I had to guess though.

The Somerset Farmhouse of 1 North Street, Williton were approached by a "food influencer" that wanted to charge them £2,000 for a review. They put out a video of Sally eating a sausage roll instead 😆. Lets make Sally and the Somerset Farmhouse famous for free.

@Get_BIG_Cards Twitter is a side business to a lot of them. They need the engagement so they get a check every month. Those 'show me your cards" or asking a random question is 100% to farm engagement. They dont care what the replies are as long as they come.

Get BIG Cards@Get_BIG_Cards·
I've noticed that some of the generic card accounts with large follower counts make posts asking people to share cards but they never interact with the posts. At most they'll like the replies but rarely engage with anyone. I've replied to some that haven't even liked my reply. And they certainly have someone who is paid strictly to run the account as a part of their business model. Meanwhile, I do this for fun yet still interact with every single reply I get to my posts asking people to share their cards. The difference is I genuinely want to see people's cards, while the business accounts only want engagement 💯

Stopped at Wendy's in Highland, Indiana (Kennedy Ave location) today and honestly, I was impressed. I ordered 6 large beef patties with cheese, onions, and pickles. Nothing complicated, but if you've spent much time eating a Proper Human Diet while traveling, you know custom orders don't always go smoothly. Not only did the staff help me place the order, but TWO different associates checked on me while I was eating to make sure everything was prepared correctly. I've been pretty disappointed with customer service at a lot of fast food restaurants over the last few years, so when a location gets it right, I think they deserve recognition. One of the biggest complaints I hear in the keto, carnivore, and PHD communities is that it's too difficult to eat while you're out and about. Experiences like this prove it doesn't have to be. Great food. Great service. Great experience. Thank you to the team at Wendy's in Highland! #ProperHumanDiet #CarnivoreDiet #KetoLife #LowCarbLiving @Wendys

@JBSDC Trying to sound smart while at the same time being completely wrong & making yourself look like a fool is a skill, so congrats. Japanese cards are cheaper because they are better quality. English cards have lower gem rates therefore bringing a premium for those cards. Not secret

My son found an interesting arbitrage in Pokémon cards this week. Japanese cards are about 60-90% cheaper than English cards. This seems to be purely due to societal affluence and the strong dollar.
