Y'day I performed the first Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) excision under the @ni_gpecs BCC pathway. This pilot, in collab with @setrust & @NHSCTrust allows some GPs to remove low-risk BCCs in primary care, easing secondary care pressures. A milestone for GP-led derm care @healthdpt

“Went for my cervical screening a few days ago. Nurse had never heard of VIN. I had to explain to her it is the Vulva equivalent of exactly what she was looking for on my cervix”
Nurses should have heard of VIN *AIN *VAIN (pre cancers) and not just CIN with HPV information🤯

The HPV vaccine is cutting cases of some cancers by 90%. In NI, it is mainly offered in schools but available otherwise if you missed it. It helps protect against cervical, throat, & other cancers.
