Early appointment in Belfast this morning. Good news -Lilia's scoliosis is relatively mild and not expected to worsen 🎉 One worry down. If next week's appointment goes well I'll be totally happy & relieved.

NI’s social care service is fragile others argue it has completely broken down. According to IHCP This story highlights the importance of paying staff proper wages - also who provides a more efficient service - health trusts or independent providers? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

When is #Enough going to be #Enough? @mikenesbittni forget the planned visits & schedules - play attention, to what you aren’t shown or told, question & take actions…beyond the nice pull-out quotes, photo-ops, scripted speeches & VT’s… our Health & Social Care is Flatlining! 🤔

From this week, severely ill and disabled people making new benefit claims will receive lower Universal Credit health element payments than existing claimants if their conditions aren’t deemed "severe and lifelong", with no prospect of improvement. People with cancer, MS, Parkinson’s, bipolar disorder, ME, long Covid, learning disabilities, and survivors of strokes and heart attacks may not get crucial support solely based on when they applied for help. I was one of the MPs who warned last year that this would create a completely unjust two-tier disability benefits system. We must keep fighting for this policy to be reversed.

When you wait 12+ hours to see a doctor in A&E, remember that 12 other doctors applied to be that doctor and got turned away. Doctors are unemployed and cannot find work, whilst last night ambulances waited 6+ hours outside my A&E to be seen. That is why Doctors are striking.

Hours waiting in A&E. Weeks for a GP appointment. Yet thousands of NHS doctors ready to help the public are being locked out of the system. Doctors need training jobs to qualify as Consultants and GPs; but the Government has capped the available number, creating a bottleneck that leaves doctors unemployed and patients waiting longer. This year there were 30,000 doctors applying for 10,000 NHS training posts. That’s the scale of the crisis Westminster won’t talk about. With no credible solution from @wesstreeting, this jobs crisis is one of the reasons @BMAResidents will be striking from the 17th of December. Patients need doctors. Doctors need jobs. The Government needs to act.

#Oliverscampaign We didn’t suddenly create more neurodivergent people. We finally started listening. Diagnosis is not a trend, it’s visibility, understanding, and long overdue recognition

Hundreds of NHS nurses have had their roles upgraded from band 5 to 6 after requesting that employers review their pay grades. However, thousands more are still waiting for the same role evaluation, which was offered to band 5 nurses in Scotland. rcni.com/nursing-standa…

Supporting social care staff including securing fair pay is crucial to building and retaining teams across the service. Especially tackling winter pressures. This from the ⁦@healthdpt⁩ will be extremely disappointing to health unions. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Such a pity that frontline NHS staff aren’t given the space in newspapers to air their thoughts, as Streeting is. The NHS is currently missing around 100,000 staff. It’s no surprise when they’re bashed continually for fighting for fair working conditions🚨 theguardian.com/society/2025/n…

We must stop demonising welfare recipients. The idea that disabled people are faking it or struggling families are all potential fraudsters. This logic punishes people for life’s challenges - we need a welfare state that helps people back on their feet, not kicks them down.
