@geordiejosh I’m a Sunderland fan, you must be too young for Beardsley? Tonali couldn’t lace his boots…

By the way, for anyone interested, Sandro Tonali is the most all-round/complete footballer I’ve seen play for my football club, don’t let anyone tell you he’s shit. 👍 He’s had a poor season for us in terms of performance obviously due to him leaving. Why the false rep?

@Ridderz86 @dyates1990 I thought he had a cracking game, one of the few where I didn’t complain at any decision even though we got about 6 yellows 😂

@Parkersafc We had three “male professional” keepers in 2017-18 who wouldn’t have saved that between them.

The importance of learning. Fascinating listening to Lewis Hall speaking after England training at St George’s Park. Hall spoke at length about his hunger to learn and develop. Newcastle United left-back has learned from recent experiences, good and bad, playing against elite wide players like Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal in the last 16 of the Champions League. Hall did well against Yamal in the drawn first leg at St James’ Park, although the Spanish international converted a late pen. Hall: “I was very pleased the way I performed. I'd say the same in the second leg for the first half, I was reasonably happy.” Yamal showed his threat just before half-time and then ran riot in the second half. “These players are the best players in the world. Sometimes they can't necessarily be at their level for the full 90 minutes, but even when they’re not at their best, they show their quality in moments throughout the game. He’s someone when the team is not doing well he can change the scoreline by himself. He's definitely a special player.” As well as Yamal, Hall has faced Antoine Semenyo, Bryan Mbeumo and Mo Salah in recent weeks, continuing his education. “You've got to test yourself against the best. I went through a short time-frame where I've had a lot of games playing against the top players in the world. It’s a difficult challenge, but I wanted that challenge. It's been a learning curve.” He learned breaking through at Chelsea, especially from senior pros like Thiago Silva. “Although he didn't necessarily speak much English, he was so good to me. He always wanted to help me improve. He was playing a lot of games at the time and still taking time on the training pitch to help me. I’m really grateful.” Eddie Howe has been an important teacher at Newcastle. “He's been a massive help for me. He’s done so much to help me be in the position I am now. He's helped me a lot off the pitch in ways to be around the training ground, and how to interact with all the lads. And then on the pitch, he’s showed a lot of belief in me, and taught me a lot about the defensive side of my game, which was the main area I needed to improve when I first joined. He spent a lot of time staying behind after training, working with me. I'm always grateful for that. Top coach.” #CFC #NUFC #ENG

🚨BREWDOG COLLAPSES INTO ADMINISTRATION WITH £500 MILLION DEBT — EQUITY FOR PUNKS INVESTORS TOTALLY WIPED OUT! The once-rebel craft beer empire founded by James Watt has officially been placed into administration after racking up debts exceeding £500 million (£553.8m owed to creditors). A pre-pack rescue deal to US firm Tilray for £33m (brewery + 11 bars) left a £480m shortfall. Thousands of small investors who bought shares through the heavily-promoted “Equity for Punks” crowdfunding scheme have been told their stakes are now completely worthless. 38 pubs closed and 484 staff made redundant. The anti-establishment brand that once valued itself at £2bn is in ruins. £500 million pound debt...wow James Watt and wife Georgia Toffolo (below)

I’ve been to SJP for 3 derby games, the 1990 play off semi, the Adam Johnson 1-0 and today. Watching that in the away end with my youngest son was unbelievable! Til The End ❤️ #SAFC

Better than us on the pitch, better than us off the pitch, and better than us in the stands. AGAIN. That’s why it’s so tough to accept. They’ll mock us relentlessly and it’s 100% deserved. Clearer each week that we aren’t what we think we are as a club. Huge reality check.

That's up there with one of our best ever derby wins for me. Team decimated by injuries, patchy form, mags desperate to get one over on us, worst possible start to the game. The way we came out and showed no fear in the second half is all you can ask for in a derby. Iconic win.

Sunderland are now unbeaten in each of their last 11 Premier League games against Newcastle, the longest run either side has had without defeat in the history of this fixture. DDWWWWWWDWW Brian Brobbey wins the game in the 90th minute. 👀
