How can anyone say Autumn Glow didn’t get 2000m?
At her first attempt, she ran 3rd fastest last 200m off ultra fast tempo and beat home Dubai Honour.
She ran 2000m but ultimately just wasn’t good enough on the day because the winner relished it + had better setup 🤷♂️

I believe Autumn Glow runs 2000m. Just hard to win when you’ve no cover for part of it with that strong tempo. See Wootton Verni a month ago for a reference.

Autumn Glow has come through yesterday’s run well, which has been pleasing to see. I’m disappointed for the horse, as she gave everything in the race, but I simply got her distance range wrong. I apologise to everyone for that — we’ll accept defeat graciously and come back better. We will now look ahead to the spring, where Autumn Glow can shine again. I’ll speak with the owners, map out an exciting preparation, and keep you updated. Congratulations to Sir Delius and their team on a brilliant win.

Some Cox Plate & Melbourne Cup redemption for Sir Delius after vets wouldn’t allow him to run. Autumn Glow beaten into third, the distance too much of a stretch but glad she ran so we know. All credit to the winner.

I think Autumn Glow Losing was beneficial for the future but some of the carry on saying she’s no good now is absolutely absurd. Her mile figures are great and you couldn’t find many better around at the moment. We have two very good mares at 1600m right!! Hope they meet!
