New major release: 🥕 Taproot channels!
🥕 full taproot support including splices
🪙 on-chain operations are now ~20% cheaper
🕵️ on-chain footprint is indistinguishable from a standard p2tr wallet as long as the channel isn't force closed
🤹 new multi-wallet support on mobile
Available on Android & iOS (2.7.0), and server (phoenixd 0.7.0).
Next up: V3 transactions and 0-fee commit txs to completely shield channels from on-chain feerates fluctuations.

Migration from existing channels is transparent, it will happen automatically next time you send or receive an on-chain payment.

@Remsjack1 It will not work. If you want to move to a different wallet you need to send your funds to that other wallet, preferably by closing your channel.

I had two phoenixd instances stop working at the same time, and refuse to return info about channel state.
Upgrading from 0.5.2 -> 0.6.2 seemed to fix it.
Did an API get changed silently? @acinq_co

@Yashraj__ Phoenix does splice outs. But nothing prevents you from using an external swap service to the same effect

@ArturBrugeman @acinq_co Thanks for the heads-up, yes it's expected. We have been transitioning to a new spec compliant backup mechanism during the past 6 months and have deprecated the legacy backup today.

@PhoenixWallet @acinq_co my phoenixd 0.5.1 got stuck in Syncing state with it's channel. I had to upgrade to 0.6.2 to get to Normal. Just fyi if this was caused by some recent changes on your side.

Re: languages; Phoenix supports english, french, german, spanish, czech (+ portuguese, slovak, vietnamese, swahili on Android).
Re: restoring from seed; an on-chain wallet will naturally not be aware of funds that are in lightning channels, but it doesn't mean that Phoenix isn't self custodial.
