.@pumpcade has won the @pumpfun hackathon. I launched Pumpcade on Pump Fun last year. Shortly after, I quit my dream job to go full time on it. It was quite an unconventional way to start as a business, but it turned out to be the best decision I could have made. From day 1, Pumpcade has had an incredibly strong community that has supported the project day in and day out. For the last 4 months the goal has remained the same. Build a new way to speculate, and build it in public. Through countless screenshots, demo videos, and dev logs, I documented the process of solo building a product from zero -> working beta. As part of winning the hackathon, Pump Fun is investing $250,000 into Pumpcade. Along with their investment, Pumpcade now has access to some of the strongest advisors, builders, and distribution channels in the industry. The vision of Pumpcade is to revolutionize the prediction market space. beautiful post man. i lost my father to cancer 12 years ago and really resonate with you. "I don’t know if everything happens for a reason. Maybe we just retrofit meaning in times of sadness in order to find solace in the helplessness of tragedy. Or maybe life really is random and things just happen because they happen." this part really hit deep.

Today is the one year anniversary of my dad passing away from cancer. It is also my birthday. Anyone who's lost a parent knows it doesn’t really get easier. You become stronger, you learn to live, but it doesn't get easier. In some ways, it's been a great year. Donate is pushing forward, I'm healthier than I've ever been, and I'm feeling optimistic about the industry I've given my life to. In other ways, it’s been the worst: trying to mentally cope with the loss of my father while remaining present for my family and team has been harder than I anticipated. I don’t know if everything happens for a reason. Maybe we just retrofit meaning in times of sadness in order to find solace in the helplessness of tragedy. Or maybe life really is random and things just happen because they happen. For my birthday today, I am running a fundraiser on Donate for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. My relationship with St. Jude and the people there has been a blessing, and I will always do what I can to help them. It's been the honor of my life to be part of this community, this platform, the friendships, the spaces, the conferences, just everything. By the end of this week, @pumpcade will have an engineering team of 3. Incredible how fast I was able to put this team together so far. It's a bad week to be a prediction market that's not 1-30 minutes and not automatically resolved.
