As another birthday rolls round, I become ever more grateful to be able to get older with the people I love and for time with my friends and family. And if this video triggers the GB News crowd, wait till they see me make this Pringle roll and add orange marmalade …

"Labour to back down on foie gras and fur bans to ease EU trade deal" Live animal transport, animal testing, insects in food, and no BSE protections All because Labour can't run our country and want the EU to do it for them 👹🤡 theguardian.com/world/2026/apr…

@James_ChronNTFC Something must have happened around Christmas to account for the nosedive in performance. It doesn’t make any sense. They were doing well at the beginning of the season and holding their own up to Christmas, then it went down hill massively. What happened?

@bigfatsquirrel9 It’s ridiculous. It also annoys me that people who are not working say they are ‘getting paid’. They are getting benefits paid for by the taxes of people who are working.

Today, as we deliver change, we remember politics is about choices. We choose a better life for our children, the Tories and Reform choose to condemn them to poverty. inews.co.uk/news/politics/…

@SandyofSuffolk @jjcwow This weekend has been shocking. The pile on older people and the insults from younger people has been horrendous. I wonder if they’ll change their tune when they get older themselves.

In all my 46 years of working, I never once heard anyone complain about old people getting a state pension. We just knew the older generation deserved looking after when they couldn't look after themselves after all their years of hard work.

@DHSCgovuk @wesstreeting @TheSun Mr Streeting said it would be easy to end the strikes when he was in opposition and blamed the then government for them taking place. Not so easy when you’re in power, is it.

This is disgusting. Waitrose has *sacked* a 54-year-old worker after 17 years of loyal service for stopping a shoplifter. This is exactly why good people don’t intervene anymore. Waitrose should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

Walker Smith was sacked for trying to prevent a repeat shoplifter from stealing Easter eggs from a Waitrose Store. Smith had worked there for 17 years. Apparently stopping thieves is against company policy. As a former shopkeeper can I say that policy is insane. No wonder there were more than 500,000 recorded shoplifting offences last year but we all know it’s running into millions of thefts each year. Waitrose should take this have a go hero back pronto- but if not another retailer should snap him up. The CEO of Waitrose needs to review this bonkers stupid policy too- shoplifting is theft and must be stopped otherwise it will further spiral and it’s the ordinary customer who will pay with higher prices. Wake up Waitrose and smell the coffee- before someone nicks it!

@comments_connie There's been a co-ordinated pile on about the triple lock this weekend, aimed at demonising pensioners, and probably organised by politicians and activists. It's not organic and it's totally beyond contempt.

All the arguments about pensioners in the last few days is proof, if it were needed, that people feel they can say what the hell they like about older people, which they wouldn't dare say about any other group in our society. This is the UK in 2026!☹️
