Better to foster it than fight it, IMO, as long as patient safety continues to be the first priority. I know nothing of Y-90, so idk about that particular procedure.

Ie, are you doing 2 RVU joint injection & the 8 RVU kypho? Maybe you are, but do you consider yourself qualified for that kypho after a 6-hour, one day training course?

@MofyaDiallo @jzaraterod @GreysABC @shondarhimes I’m okay with it. I use anesthesiology services in < 2% of my cases. But at a kyphoplasty/ablation course I attended this August, > 2/3 attending where anesthesiologists. Anesthesiologists treating cancer now, too… feel free to take the LP chemo administration while you’re at it

@fitty_fitz @jzaraterod @smbracewell @GreysABC @linemonkeymd I can’t advocate for other specialties picking up procedures because someone somewhere had some relationship that allowed cross-training. I spent 6 years of training to become an IR. Do you want a vascular surgeon doing your mom’s Y-90 because they had 1 month on IR?

@jzaraterod @smbracewell @RadioloV @GreysABC @linemonkeymd The lines which existed in prior generations are fading. It is the natural progression of technology in medicine. No longer surgery or not. Now a spectrum of invasiveness. Does not mean all scopes of practice are the same, though, which i think is your larger point.
