@Real_Presence_ @SecretFire79 UCC is the child of the Congregationalist branch of churches, which started back in the 16th century. It predates the rise of Evangelicalism as a coherent movement by at least a century.

Now, the UCC *does* have its roots in the 16th century Reformers. But that video could easily have been from an Anglican or Lutheran church

You lumped all "evangelicals" into the same pot as the heretical church hosting & promoting the blasphemy in the OP's video. Which is BS as UCC are a MAINLINE denom.

Maybe you could try being a little less tribal & a little more precise next time. Particularly as "Protestant" isn't a single, uniform blob despite what ignorant Roman Catholics say.

UCC is an evangelical church because it like in the original post I put, it has nothing to do with historic Protestantism. But this is a category problem on a much bigger level, because alot of people consider all of the evangelical side to be Protestant so if you look up any evangelical church it's gonna be called Protestant. Hence the need for seperation in category name at a minimum.

Rev 3:16-17 are there for a reason. And so are Rev 3:18-19. For the pastors: Matt 23's woes can be are for you, too.

@JBone0318 @realfemsapien Many pastors are cowards. They know that their salaries, benefits, & pensions are majority-funded from the women of the congregation. They also know that the majority of those women have imbibed feminism so their pride will revolt against the rarity of being called to a standard.

It’s so tiresome being part of a religion of cowards. I cannot express to you the immense grief this brings upon my soul. How do the rest of you manage this?

@MichaelPThelen @realfemsapien Amazing how many Churched people these days just miss passages like those that tell about how there's tares among the wheat, the way to salvation is tight & few find it, the Beatitudes are mostly for people with hard lives, & how at some future point there'll be massive apostasy.

@realfemsapien Read the Old Testament constantly. Golden calves and baal worship constantly. Not sure at any time "most believers" were doing anything approximating correct worship in broad strokes. So... at least take solace knowing this is part of the plan.

Jesus promised that in the world we WILL have trouble. But the validity of the Pre-Trib doctrine is unrelated to anyone's desires.

@realfemsapien Believing in pre-trib rapture doctrine is especially cowardly. It teaches false escapism rather than enduring persecution, despite Jesus Himself saying we will be persecuted for His namesake, what’s more, also saying it’s only after the great tribulation that rapture commences.
