@RoyIsThaTruth It wasn’t the vaccine. It was the crippling disease itself and the long period of isolation we had to endure. People went behind closed doors and went to the underworld of their realities and never came back from it.
People live as if they are the only one who matters.
That is a plate of South Carolina hash with mustard sauce. The best ones are made with liver and leftover pulled pork that may or may not have ever seen smoke or flame. It is assembled in a pot or a cauldron. It is marvelous stuff, but using it as an example of South Carolina barbecue is a stretch. I think that when most people think of American barbecue, they think of ribs, pulled pork, brisket. If they are open minded, they can also think of turkey and chicken and steak and smoked fish and sausages. Having judged at the South Carolina state championship and traveling around the state I can tell you they do a nice job with ribs and pulled pork. It’s pretty hard to find the others. I think buying large the best barbecue comes from Kansas City although I expect to hear from the folks from Texas and Memphis.
Once I figure out which town I’m gonna call home, it’s going to be an enormous weight off my shoulders. Leaning towards the NW Georgia /Chattanooga area. Either way, I’ll be in the mountains soon and out of Florida if all goes well 🤞
Unpopular opinion: The gym isn't about looking good.
It's about being able to carry shopping, play with your kids, and not throw your back out picking up a sock.
Vanity is a side effect.
@theficouple I’ve read that the rich view homes as liabilities not assets. As for all the homes I’ve lived in, all I did was right check after check after check for maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
No right or wrong when it comes to buy vs rent.
But the data says:
- 90% of millionaires own their home
- Homeowner net worth is 40x higher than renters
- Home equity is the #1 wealth-building asset
Renting is fine. It's just not what the wealthy do.
People who don't watch many movies love talking about how there were so few good movies last year. In reality '25 was one of the best years for movies I can remember. Here's my top ten for last year in no order (and I still have a few yet to see):
