Every three to four guns declared to the ASFCP for confiscation carries a cost to the taxpayer that is equivalent to that of a psychiatric nurse or mental health & substance abuse counsellor.
This is what people like me have been trying to point out for almost six years now.

Been seeing some rumours of an SKS having been used by the perpetrator of the Tumbler Ridge mass murder.
But reports that 27 victims were injured, with 25 being triaged at, and released from the scene makes a shotgun far more likely.
So we await official reports.

I keep thinking "stop overreacting, it's just another data breach," but then I remember what data was taken, and that it was taken quite intentionally by a bad actor somewhere in the world - and then I think "nope, I think I am appropriately reacting."

@JohnThomsonSK Thing is, a lot of them aren't serviceable, and bringing them up to a serviceable standard will likely cost more than just buying someone more modern.
Most of these guns were built for the Chinese as part of the WW2 lend-lease program...

A lot of gun owners (myself included) have become so numbed to everything gun-ban related that we probably don't realize how absolutely unprecedented these statements are.
I cannot recall the last time so many PDs and provinces so publicly noped out of something like this.

@Calibremag @TristinHopper Since we're traveling with guns it was really the only option since all the good Vegas hotels are not too happy when you walk in with a gun case.
Also, it was way cheaper.
The 3 years we've gone to Shot Show the airbnbs have been really good. Probably some luck to it.
