Millions of families are struggling to pay their energy bills. I'm fighting to cut those rising costs by joining @SEEC, @RepCasten & @RepMikeLevin to introduce the #EnergyBillsReliefAct that lowers costs for households, increases reliability, and expands access to American-made energy.

Your energy bills are too high. Trump promised to cut them in half. Under his watch, they rose as high as 13% last year. Today, I introduced the Energy Bills Relief Act with @RepCasten to actually deliver on that promise. This isn’t ideology. It’s math. Restrict the cheapest sources of new electricity while demand rises, and prices go up. Deploy clean energy, modernize the grid, and integrate storage, and rising demand can be met with falling costs. The path to lower bills runs directly through the clean energy deployment that markets are already telling us is the cheapest way forward. That’s what this bill is designed to deliver.

Today, I join my colleagues @RepCasten and @RepMikeLevin in introducing the Energy Bills Relief Act: a major legislative package to address rising energy costs. With electricity bills increasing as much as 13% under the Trump administration, America needs a new approach to energy — one that puts people over profits. This approach also includes my SITE Act, which will give FERC the authority to build interstate transmission lines, improving electricity accessibility and reliability.

This week, @SEEC's Innovation & Technology Task Force, led by @RepKevinMullin & @RepSalinas, endorsed four bills that will catalyze the deployment of next-generation clean technologies to accelerate American energy independence and homegrown manufacturing in the 21st century.

Americans are facing higher energy costs, but it's not their fault. The Trump Administration is rolling back incentives to help lower costs and create new energy systems of the future. We need to stand up for affordability—not send our country backward.

Right after President Trump’s divisive SOTU, @HouseGOP decided to pass another slew of bills that would further strain our electrical grid & make life more expensive for Americans. It seems worth reiterating to our colleagues that energy costs should be going down, not up.
